Jurassic Park 4: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes writers sign on for new film
Plans for a Jurassic Park 4 movie are well under way after news that Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been hired to write the script.
The pair, who penned Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, have been hired by Universal to work on the fourth instalment of the dinosaur franchise.
Steven Spielberg told Collider earlier this year that he wouldn't be behind the camera for the new film.
He said: 'I don’t want to talk about Jurassic Park 4 yet – it’s too early – but I can tell you that I’m not directing it. I’m producing it though.'
Co-producer Kathleen Kennedy said that the movie would only be made if they had a 'great script'.
She said: 'We have a very high bar for ourselves because we’re just like the audience, we don’t wanna make the movie if there’s not a reason to make the movie.'
'So we’ve kind of created the dilemma ourselves because it was never intended to be a franchise, so there’s an argument to be made, ‘Why are you doing a fourth Jurassic Park?’
'So we’ve gotta find a good reason for why we’re doing a fourth Jurassic Park and we’re in the midst of working on that right now.'
Film fans seemed surprised at the prospect of another Jurassic Park movie on Twitter.

I loved Rise of the Planet of the apes so I hope something good comes out of it. I've been waiting too long for a new Jurassic Park, even if the sequels have been pretty bad.

Re: Jurassic Park 4: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes writers
^ actually im not sure about that
If you recently watched the re-release on bluray, the first Jurassic Park holds up REALLY REALLY well. reason being is that there was a perfect combination of miniature models and visual effects. that combination is what sold the movie as being really realistic.
sadly that practice is barely used anymore
everything is computer oriented, cg oriented, and sometimes I feel like things look "too real" that the human eye/brain thinks something's wrong. nothing is that perfect! i think that's why some people can really tell when something was done in post production as opposed to actually shot.
either way im curious to see how this turns out. 2 and 3 were horrendous, but the first ever jurassic park is the reason i got into vfx... if the story and overall feel can reproduce the first feel i'll be all sorts of happy!

I liked them all
Of course the first was the best but I enjoyed each of them.
So I'm excited about an eventual new one

I loved all the Jurassic Park movies, but the first was the best!
I've really wanted a fourth since they first threw around talk about it. I liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes too, thought the writing stood out a bit too, so I'm hopeful!

I remember my dad taking me to see the first Jurassic Park. I was in 2nd grade (I think?). Anyway, I remember telling him "I don't think I'm ready to see this!", and when my mom got wind that he took me to see it, she was SO pissed because it would give me nightmares, and it did too! LOL

Re: Jurassic Park 4: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes writers
I thought the name of the movie was going to be "Jurassic Park 4: Rise of the Planet of the Apes". Needless to say, I was a bit confused. Now that I've neatly dropped my IQ 50 points...
I'm intrigued and excited. I'm not surprised they're going for it, they did leave the 3rd open for a sequel. I loved these as a kid, still do. The best part is they no longer give me nightmares lol. I actually saw the first one in theaters, which is maybe a questionable decision on my parents' behalf as I was only 3, but I loved it. I distinctly remember trying to fight off my mom when she tried to cover my eyes for the scene where the dude on the toilet gets eaten. I was so mad, because I wasn't afraid and she wouldn't let me watch. My sister on the other hand jumped seats into my uncle's lap and sent popcorn flying everywhere

Did anybody see the title of this thread and expect to learn about a cross over between Jurassic Park and Planet of the Apes? No? Just me? Okay, then.
