Is Angel worth checking out at all or is it just a copy of Buffy? I think I have seen a few episodes back in the day, but had to stick to Buffy. :p

Uh, yes! I mean, it's more or less a companion piece, but it definitively gets its own groove as the show progresses.

I prefer every season of Angel to any of the last 3 seasons of Buffy certainly 6 and 7.

I think Angel lasting the length it did was in hindsight a blessing.

Buffy and certainly Charmed both out stayed their welcome in the end imo

I got really bored now with Season 3 (Buffy), except some episodes. Season 6 highlight was Willow turning evil.   Season 7 was shit overall, does anybody in here know why they went forward with season 6 and 7?

I will give Angel a try after I am done with Bunny... Buffy, I mean.

Season 3 is my favorite! :p
I also really like season 7. Perfect "last"-season to the show, imo.

Season 6 is def the worst! (except of a few episodes like OMWF, Tabula Rasa and the whole 3-part finale).

Well the WB Network wanted to end it after five so I assume there was a fan campaign to continue it with another network and UPN picked it up for two further years.

Willow turning evil was an interesting direction and she played it well but overall the writing was so sloppy and not on par with the peak years. I agree with many of the points brought up here http://buffy-boards.com/threads/season- ... ess.66982/

Seven is just a complete mess.

I personally could have done without both. Neither is as unbelievably shit as Season 8 of Charmed though (wonder how bad Buffy 8 would've been)

When most main stars of US TV shows sign up for series they sign a 5 season deal, it is usually then very expensive to keep them on after season 5 as they demand more money per episode and most TV shows that go beyond season 5 have 1 year contracts. I assume the WB couldn't afford to pay for the likes of SMG and co (SMG was becoming a huge name at this point) and Joss had written the perfect ending to conclude it with season 5. I just assume UPN threw a lot of money at the stars and producers and it became a no brainer to carry on a couple more years.

Yeah, when Joss made the season 5 finale he didn´t know yet if this was the end or if they were gonna get picked up by another station.
I would have been so heartbroken if the show actually ended with Buffy being dead! :D :'( lol

I've met James Marsters today at the Comic Con Amsterdam and asked him if there's going to be a reunion soon. The answer is 'no', but not because Sarah or Joss doesn't want to do it or the story comes "more to fruition in TV show season" instead of a movie. I'll post the video of the answer tomorrow, it's actually quite interesting. They all want to do it, even Josh and Sarah.

I've taken a picture with him too! It's because of the Kuzie's. They won't let Joss do a reunion without their vision.
