According to worldofbritney Kiss FM announced yesterday that Britney's new single would be released in March, with the album coming in June/July!

Exciting!! I hope for huge ITZ style performances and promo

The thing is with Britney, she's 'too big' for TV performances now, the same with Madonna. They'll only do big shows like X Factor etc. Anyway, GimmeBritney posted this:

‘Single 1‘ by Britney Spears has been added to the line up of upcoming singles in the latest release schedule from All Access Music Group/The Music Network.

The first quarter of 2010 sees a new single to radio from Brit sometime in March. But she has some tough competition with the much anticipated “not comeback” single from Kylie Minogue, a new direction from Christina Aguilera, back to her roots Avril Lavigne, Aussie duo The Veronicas, Janet Jackson and Maroon 5 – just to name a few, all expected to drop in March.

Little is known about the first single from Britney – however if the past is anything to go on, it will be an absolute club banger. We will be keeping an ear out for any further news on this as it happens.

We were super excited to hear that Britney's dropping a new single in March, and since she's got an album coming out after that, we're thinking that she IS going to go back on tour in 2010. That would certainly explain why her conservatorship got extended!

So can the pop princess continue to stay on top in 2010? Or is this going to burn her out? And is this what Britney wants, or is there someone else who's calling the shots?

Apparently, Britney started working on the new album in July. And she's going back in the studio this month to finish everything off. Plus, KISS FM said the new single is produced by David Guetta.

Nah, I don't think so. But it would be a good idea for two singles before the album.

Well, Womanizer premiered late September was released worldwide early December.

3 was announced six days before the radio premiere. So if these reports mean it's being released in March, we should hear something by late February. It's all down to what time of the month it's being released though.

Not really, christmas was a single collection with no promo/new photoshoot/performances and 1 new song which most likely was among the amount she recorded for this album

People keep saying this, but I disagree.

There was a five month gap between Born To Make You Happy and Oops!...I Did It Again. Britney has never taken huge breaks between her albums, the longest was obviously Blackout - but before then, the longest between single releases was only a year. It just proves she's getting back to her old self. Unless, she's tying to get out of her contract. This is her last album with Jive, unless she signs with them again. But that makes no sense, Britney has always said she loves the process of making an album.

I agree... the 7th album is scheduled to be released 1.5 years after the 6th one, it's not too short, it's regular!

Considering that Singles Collection era was very brief, with just one single, no promo... seems like it has been released just to keep the ball rolling in the gap between the albums!

I don't think it's too early for an album, but I do wish she'd take her time with an album. The two albums with the most in-the-making time were In The Zone and Blackout, and those turned out to be her two best albums. I would rather her take a year to write and record 50+ songs and choose the best 12 (because that seems to be Jive's cap) to put on an album than to take six months to do 20 songs that either make it to the album or get released as a bonus track somewhere.

Not in the dance studios but training on gym, meant to use the word "training" instead of practising . She's set to get back to dance studios soon too, according to sources. She's not taking long break between the tour and the new album. She was already recording new material when she was on tour and now she's working out again.

I'm totally excited for a new Britney album, but definitely WAY more excited at the idea of a new tour. I hope she only does one NA leg this time, so it won't seem like too much. Girl needs to slow it down a bit.

Yeah, X17 are just assuming she'll go on tour due to the C-ship being extended. I highly doubt she'll go on tour again this year.

I hope the new album has some songs with a bit of depth or a more sultry tone like Early Mornin and Showdown. I love her club bangers but love her sultry ones.

This is what I'm hoping for the most. Everybody knows Britney can do a great dance tune about sex or parties or whatever, and I do love them. But I really want her to try doing something different this time, not just make more 'Blackout-esque' songs.

Tracks along the lines of Unusual You, Shadow, The Answer e.t.c. is what I'd love to hear. Obviously, I don't think anything Britney puts out there would be 'bad', I just think it would be nice to see a different side of her, musically.
