All I know is it's not going to be an rnb album apparently but instead it's going to be a pop album instead apparently.

Im so excited for this, I stand by Cheryl being a brilliant popstar, if the material is good enough, she will soar as a solo artist, in the UK at least!

Its amazing that producers’ aside we’ve actually heard nothing from Cheryl herself, are they waiting to make a big BAM ‘here’s Cheryl’s debut single’ style announcement?!

The whole situation is a little odd, nothing has been officially confirmed yet her album is scheduled for release in early October.

The only thing we know for certain is that she's working with Soulshock, the rest are just rumours.

But the thing is though if it's supposed to be out this October why is there nothing about it on the HMV website for example ? Normally they have something like ''coming soon'' and you can ask for an email alerting you to the release date and well I assume other sites do that too. Anyways that's what's confusing me about it personally I'm starting to think it won't come out till 2010 lol

I agree, that would seem far more likely, but I just can't see the label not wanting to cash-in on the X-Factor hype machine. Also by releasing pre-xmas it will allow for a couple more singles next year before the Girls regroup.

Whilst I dont believe her single will flop I wonder how her album will perform? I know she is considered a UK sweetheart atm but will people invest in an album by her?

I didn't realize the album was supposed to be out so soon!
If I was her I'd probably release a couple of singles before releasing the album. But if the first single is a huge hit, it could be enough to sell the album on the back of it. So yeah, who knows?

Actual news!!

Princess GA (insider on GAM) has said Cheryl's filming the video for her single this weekend, and they'll be loads of dancing. And we'll be hearing the single before the end of September.

While we wait with bated breath for Cheryl Cole's first solo album, I spoke to a music insider this week who's already had a sneak peek. He told me: "Everyone's been saying her stuff is r'n'b based with a lot of hip hop but that's rubbish. It's a pop album. Cheryl's stuck to her roots." I can't wait to hear it!

And there's a Xenomania article in the new issue of Q magazine, saying that their autumn schedule includes Cheryl's album (and that it's co-produced with Will.i.am).
