SARAH HARDING has become the third GIRLS ALOUD singer to announce she's working on solo material.

Sarah, who unveiled this new mature look on Wednesday night, said at her Kanaloa club in London: "I'm starting my album now but I don't know what theme of music to go for. I want to step away from cheesy pop.

"It's important for me to try to establish my own identity."

She's doing herself down a bit. I'm told Sarah will be songwriting with top producers.

Meanwhile, NADINE COYLE was back in Los Angeles for St Patrick's Day. She was photographed hanging outside her own bar - Nadine's Irish Mist on Sunset Beach.

I can't see the girl band ever recovering from this. First CHERYL COLE, then Nadine, now Sarah.

I think I'd rather listen to genocide than a Sarah album. Or even worse, Javine.

I love Sarah but I really wouldnt like a song full of her. She shines on The Promise but I couldnt handle a full 3 min 30 sec track of just her. Would rather Kim or Nic. The only voices I truly like on their own are Cheryl's, Kim's and Nadine's. I know Sarah and Nic are good singers but I just don't like their sound all that much, esp Sarah.

Well she did get positive reviews on here about her St Trinians 2 songs (not all the songs but some)

The fact that she did them i thought signalled she would be doing a solo album at some point, in fact ill be looking forward to her stuff more than the other 2.

I dont see the end of Girls Aloud, just it getting postponed AGAIN. New GA album in 2012

To be honest, I thought she would be one of the girls who will do a solo album besides Nadine and Cheryl (who is like an obligatory to release one). I'm glad she is doing one. I can see she would do something electro-pop / dance music. Her voice suits that.

Maybe Sarah's album will be out after Girls Aloud's one? Given that she just started working on it. And Girls Aloud is supposed to release something end of this year. So I guess she would release her album and release hers after Girls Aloud did theirs. What I'm afraid that Nadine is the one that is delaying the Girls Aloud's release.

Exactly this, except I don't love her. She's actually the one I can do without if ever they turned into a 4 piece which fingers crossed that will never happen. When she actually just sings she sounds fine and her bit in The Promise when they do it live is one of my favorite parts. I can't help but think of songs like FIx Me Up where she just screeches all the way through and it sounds horrible. But whatever if she's doing it good for her I won't be getting it, as long as she doesn't hold up the band getting back together I don't care what she does.

The worst thing is that there are still fans believing that the group will be back this year. 3 out of 5 girls are working on solo albums.

If Sarah is working with Xenomania (which is just an assumption), then she'll probably have it out later this year. And Nadine is is supposedly releasing in the summer / autumn. I don't think any of the girls are holding up the GA album, it's just that they're all to busy with their own stuff to meet up and discuss the next album.

And this GA single that supposed to happen this year, I did doubt it. Someone suggested it might be a Children In Need single? But who knows, it might be scrapped all together. It's only planned, they haven't recorded it.

Before 3 Words, I couldn't imagine what 100% Cheryl vocal tracks would sound like... and in my opinion she was a bit of a revelation. Even though not all of her tracks are thaaaaat good, they're all perfectly listenable.

So maybe the same would go with Sarah.

Agreed. I enjoy Sarah's solo music over Cheryl's. Don't get me wrong, I love Cheryl to bits but her solo music is just not my cup of tea.

The problem with Nadine is, she is still taking her time to record songs. Last heard that she is supposed to come out with a single this month rite? I think with the speed she is doing her record, I think the earliest we will get is like June. By then, her album will be like release in August. And if Girls Aloud is supposed to release like in Nov, how is she going to juggle her solo work with Girls Aloud's work assuming she may release a 2nd single in September/Octrber.

So if they haven't recorded it yet, some girl/s must have caused the hold up if they want to get the single out by this year. And also, unless they are only doing a standalone single, if not a full-fledged album will take up much of the girls' time. So if Sarah & Nadine are recording/doing promotion for their solo stuff later half of this year, it just doesn't look right. And it just doesn't seem wise for the girls to release their solo stuff concurrently with the group stuff.

Yes, you've probably only focused on the fact that I vehemently hate the Sugababes and Cheryl. Besides those, I have other opinions on artists but I mainly like a lot. Didn't realise I should only love or hate something.

I CANNOT WAIT for Nadine solo

But Sarah solo? I'd enjoy a song and that's it.... she CAN sing, but her voice is just not enjoyable for a whole album

She definetely can sing and she showed that skill at the "Promise".She "owns" the song,it's like Sarah AND the rest of the girls.But she cannot do any genre I believe.I didn't like her solo songs at St Trinians soundtrack,they sound cheesy and quite silly.If she is going for soul and generally retro type of songs that need a good vibrato she can do a great work.But I think she'll go indie,she is the "rockiest" Girls Aloud and she loves such kind of music.Plus,the "I wanna step away from cheesy pop" phrase kinda tells that.
