Nicola Roberts - Cinderella's Eyes (Debut Album)
Re: Nicola Roberts - Cinderella's Eyes (Debut Album)
I like the original SOTU cover but everything after that was pretty bad.
Chemistry is ok though kinda boring

To be honest, all their covers, Girls Aloud and Solo including albums and singles have been .... as you would put it, fairly shit. I mean, I don't know how skilled their graphic designer is, clearly not much. I mean, look at the Saturdays single covers for example, they all look really good like allot of effort as been put into it. Girls Aloud and solo covers all look cheap, as if it was done by a 10 year old in paint

I think the Tangled Up (fan edition) cover is really good.

Yeah, now that I come to think of it, most of the GA solo and group artwork have been kinda... meh.
I do think that 'See The Day' single cover is quite nice, the one where they are shaped like a star. And I think the Can't Speak French ones were also quite well done.
come to think of it, the Can't Speak French ones look like they could be Saturdays CD singles from CL era.

There's quite a few GA artworks I like, lol.
The Saturdays' aren't all that, come on. How about the yellow monstrosity that is Higher? Lol.

The Saturdays Chasing Lights cover is better than anything GA put out

Well, Sats can have their artworks, but GA certainly have the better music behind the artwork.

I love The Saturdays & GAs music almost equally actually.
The Saturdays have released some excellent singles and have alot of really great album tracks too aswell as good b sides. Girls Aloud luckily had Xenomania with them the whole way and they helped them alot.
So yeah I wouldn't put one above the other right now and The Saturdays are still growing as a band so can only improve too. Notorious has really grown on me recently aswell I now quite love it

Yer, Jay is right, Girl's Aloud do have better music (singles wise anyway). But the Saturdays artwork is so good and you can tell alot of time has been put into it! Chasing Lights, Wordshaker and Headlines are all amazing to look at whereas Girls Aloud's aren't... SOTU looks tacky and past it's time, WWTNS is possibly one of the worst album covers i've ever seen (only just seen it and LOL'd), Chemistry is ok but just looks like a photoshoot with "chemistry" added, Tangled up as someone said, looks like it's been done by a 10 y/o on paint but OOC is nice

The Out Of Control artwork, especially the back cover, is actually offensive. But some of their single covers were good - usually the maxi singles got 'fun' covers, Love Machine with the magazines, Wake Me Up with the badges, See The Day in the snowflake formation. Whole Lotta History's maxi was appalling - Kimba's random umbrella?

^ Have you SEEN the font layout? It's foul! The Promise is stretched over loads of space yet a longer title is scrammed into an inch of space. *shudders* The designer was clearly high that day.

Ahhhh that kind of offensive!
That is kinds horrible. The whol font for the era was terrible. Don't even get me started on the Untouchable cover. Copy and Paste at an all time GA best. Shame as most of their artwork was nice
WWTNS era had the best artwork, just for the Maxi-singles as you said.

I didn't mind the OOC album cover mainly because they actually got to be on the cover rather than the past 2 albums. So I was just happy to have anything with them on the cover.
I don't understand how fan art covers are always, and I do mean always, better than the actual CD covers. Don't understand why record labels seem to hire shit people to do the job.

the awful thing about the OCC cover is the disposition of the writing (and the font itself, obviously).
