how to get glitter glue to dry quickly?! [sorry about new th

Postby Michelle_ » 12 Apr 2008, 03:27

okay, so my CD is almost done. the canadian flag is drawn on with glitter glue, but I need to hot glue the maple leaf on (I had to print it out and colour over it cause I couldn't draw it to save my life  ) but the problem is, the glue has been drying for 6 hours now and it's still wet.
are there and suggestions on how to speed up the process?!

THANKS! (:

What kind of glitter glue are you using?

that sounds odd I know but I know a little too much about the stuff.

LOL
well if it cold to touch, meaning it's dry but not completly you should be alright.
but if you stick your finger in it and it comes off, that's not very good....
hmmmm I'll check some things out and I'll be back.
I did my CD with glitter glue and it worked fine, but It's probably a different brand.

yeah, I'm poor and my mom doesn't like giving me money so I couldn't buy anything fancy, haha.
and it's cold, but it sticks to my finger and there's red glitter on it :D
would it work if I tried like blowdrying it? lmao.

I was think blow drying.... but I worried about the effect it might have to the actual glue.
but maybe on a cold setting, it would work.
possible even a fan, but that would only be good if you could mount it some wa so that it dries all the areas.
and also it show be head on because if not it cold blow the glue to one side.
Wow I'm giving this quite a lot of thoguht haha :D

lmao! well I appreciate it :D
yeah, I think blowdrying it on a cold setting would work.
the red part is basically tried, it's just the silver (white, but I thought silver would look better) that needs to dry.
thanks girl! (:

that's so good!
this is what mine looks like so far.

it's bad quality, it's from my phone :(

.. there's like something wrong with the silver. it's really gross and chunky looking to me,
when the maple leaf dries, I'm going to put the red girl logo on it in silver .. kinda defeats the whole 'red' girl part but oh well, I think it's cool! :p

That sounds like a great idea.
and it looks fine.
but if your a OCD prefectionist like me, maybe you could try smooting it out with a paint brush.
If you just sorta move it in the direction to want it should go.
But that's only if it's not too dry.

yeah, I just tried for like 5 minutes.
it helps a teeny bit, but not so much :despise:
it might be because it's only on the low setting..
but I'm scared it'll mess up if I put it on high...
hopefully it'll dry soon! cause the red is almost dry now (:

AWWWWWW :(
stupid unstable things mixed with gravity.
it should be fine just breakout the makeup sponge thingy again I stepped on mine while it was wet and I save it.
If the red is mixed in with the white don't panic just sorta cover it with another little bit of glitter glue and then smooth everything over.
It should be fine, you just have to be patient with it.
and then breakout the highest drying setting on your hairdryer.
Everything should be okay.

I'd say! I don't even know how it fell!
It's definitely not as smooth as the other side, but it's the best I could do as of right now.
I just hope it looks alright in the long run.
I'm usually not a perfectionist, but after seeing how good everybody else's is, I'm just like 'ugh'
thanks for the help though, really! (:

About the glitter, when I first did mine it was raised, and looked really shiny and lovely, but after a few days when it had completely dried it went completely flat, kinda disappointed me lol, I wasn't happy with it when I sent it but it was too late to make a new one

^ yeah, my CD was the one with white paper already attached to it because I didn't think it would turn out nice on just a plain CD.
I've seen yours and its FAB.
