it actually looks like a Studio Ghibli movie, if you think about the witch and the blue wisps...

LMAO!
Remember the title of the movie was supposed to be The Bear and the Bow? That's Mogu, if I'm not wrong.

Re: "Brave" (aka The bear and the bow)
Just saw it tonight, it was great. well i thought it was great. there are def parts that are a little slow and took them awhile to get to... but overall i thought it was really enjoyable.
the hair simulation was oh em gee so amazing so gorgeous, and the overall environment was really great. there seemed to be a nod to Miyazaki in the film... lots of references/similarities to Miyazaki's films like howl's moving castle.
And yay to Pixar's first ever female lead!

oh gosh, can't wait! It opens next month here..
I love me some Howl's Moving Castle and Miyazaki so I guess I'll like it as well! Fingers crossed!
(btw, can't believe it is only 64% on Rotten Tomatoes.. :S)

only 14 reviews. i refuse to believe madagascar 3 is better than this film O_O most reviews ive read that are bad seem to comment more on how un-pixar like the film is as opposed to the film itself... which is stupid. i agree it feels more like a disney flick than a pixar flick, but i thought it was great. maybe the critics just don't know how to react when it's a female lead either :P
i wouldnt say the flick is as good as monsters inc or nemo, but i liked it more than toy story 2 and 3, ratatouille, and incredibles

im part of the VES (visual effects society), the Chair of our division is from Pixar, so he scheduled a screening of the movie with a Q&A panel for us.

sometimes I think critcs forget to think about the movie and focus on the Pixar element when writing it. I mean, they are ALWAYS comparing to the company's previous movies, it seems that they can't separate the movie from the "entity" that Pixar is.
