Iceland : Yohanna - Is It True?

Postby wildhope » 18 May 2009, 13:19

Guys guys,
I totally fell in love with this song. Yohanna's voice is really good and I totally love the setting of the stage. It's so dreamy and looks like it can be a theme for a Disney's animation movie for the Princess series. I'm so glad she got to the 2nd place although I would have loved it if it had won it.

Here's the video for the song and the performance for the song on Eurovision.

Anyone loves this too?

Yeah, it was one of my faves if not the fave. And it does help that the girl is as pretty as a doll :$

I think every person in Iceland is happy she didn't win. The country's bankrupt! 2nd place is the best they could possibly get.

She actually reminds me of Within Temptation's singer vocals. They're as wonderful as her vocals. I voted for her in the semi-final and also in the final. I think she got what she deserved. I'd be mad if she was under that awful Arash song.

I find the CD version incredibly dull. She did it much better live even though she didn't mean a word she was singing.

She is only 18 going 19 this year. I totally love her voice. I love the CD version but I love the 'live' version even more. I think alot of people were amazed by her vocals and she got a huge applause and cheering from the audience.

I've found 2 more performances of this song prior to the competition

She performed this song after the announcement that she won the entry to represent Iceland for the Eurovision Song Contest

This is the performance she did during the selection.

She is going to release her album in Europe soon although it was released in Iceland late last year.
I hope I can get a copy of it coz I really love her voice.

Iceland could never have won Eurovision... Their econimics collapsed and they couldn't afford to held the competition :p

the selection version was too soft/dull, after she won the national selection it was too shouted, i love the softer version performed in the Eurovision final.

plus the make-up was different, she seemed much younger and innocent in the Eurovision final, and that dress added a lot to the charm. It's unbelievable how much small details can add to a song.
if anything good is happening in the SG or solo-SG forum, someone please PM me :p thx
