An album track that SCREAMED to become a single.

Postby MJ » 01 Apr 2012, 18:59

I know most would mention "One Shot" and I completely agree, but "Wordshaker" would have been a great single as well.

Currently on "On Your Radar", "Move On U" is beyond amazing, even people that have no idea who the Saturdays are totally love this track. A bonus track which is better than any of the album tracks, bar "All Fired Up" and "Get Ready Get Set".

In my opinion:

Chasing Lights: Fall
Wordshaker: Denial or One Shot
Headlines: Puppet
On Your Radar: Get Ready Get Set

I think a few tracks would have made great singles:

From 'Chasing Lights': (Not that this album needed any other singles, lol, but if they'd made different choices...)
- Keep Her (possibly with a 'poppier' remix)
- Fall

From 'Wordshaker':
- One Shot
- Wordshaker
- Lose Control
- Here Standing

From 'Headlines':
- Puppet

From 'On Your Radar':
- Get Ready, Get Set
- Faster
- White Lies

I think "Fall" is such a lovely ballad, very pleasing to an ear, but it would have done just as bad as "Work". "Puppet" on the other hand with a great beat and a very catchy chorus would have been an incredible single.

Generally The Sats have been good with single choices, except for "My Heart Takes Over", which hasn't grown on me a bit.

My Heart Takes Over is one of my favourite Saturdays ballads.
I think hearing it live though made it even better. They added some 'ooomph' to the sound of the track, and it's pretty awesome.

Back to the topic, although I mentioned my choices, I do feel that their discography of singles is pretty darn impressive!

My exact choices too! I think the perfect choices were made for Chasing Lights though, I couldn't see anything else being released from it!

'Ladykiller' too.
Not only it deserved to be on the album, but it could've been a contender for a single release.

I could name a few album tracks that could've been good singles, but the only ones that are really big wasted opportunities are One Shot and Get Ready Get Set.

I find it quite strange reading the posts and how the majority have near enough all put the same thing and yet it weren't released!?!

But anyways:
1. One Shot
2. Here Standing
3. Puppet
4. Get Ready, Get Set
5. White Lies

These along with their other singles would make for a KILLER GH!!! :@ bitter because it'll never happen

As much as i like Move On U, Lose Control and Karma (well less so with lose control but seems to be loved by others somehow) I think they are less 'single' and more 'really good album tracks'

One Shot & Get Ready Get Set were the biggest missed opportunities.

One Shot would have slotted in nicely between Ego & Missing You :(
