Foundation for dry skin?

Postby rachspice » 23 Nov 2011, 17:14

I get very dry skin in the winter, and all the foundation I've tried just makes it worse. Has anyone got an tips on a good foundation which won't dry my skin out? Thanks in advance :)

Do you moisturize before putting foundation on? That's key. Or an oil free primer might help, too.

I do, it still dries out quite quickly though, thanks for the primer tip, I'll try that.

I never used it but it's more a light coverage

I know this is really late but I have the same problem. I use elizabeth arden makeup or the thick boots no7 for a cheaper alternative {it has to be full coverage), and mix them with a thick moisturizer on the back of my hand. gives great coverage and doesnt dry your skin but it gives a very wet/dewey look so best to do it a while before you go out, and use a light setting powder just to make it stick. worked for me, hope it works for you.

The Elizabeth Arden Sponge on Make up foundation is an excellent alternative, if not the best. Its very creamy and if you need something with lots of coverage itll be perfect. I would say that you can get good stage make up with it so u have an idea that in talking about coverage coverage!
