I doubt they were together.. Knowing the pair of them one probably left once they heard the other was there!

Cheryl Cole scraps US plans to concentrate on Girls Aloud reunion

Cheryl Cole has admitted that she has no immediate plans to crack America.

The singer confirmed that her third studio album A Million Lights will not receive a US release as she will be in the UK for Girls Aloud's 10th anniversary later in the year.

"I haven't any plans to try and break America this time. I'm more than happy to be releasing it here," Cole told the Daily Star.

"It's not in my plans to tour or release there. But I do want to tour in the UK - the buzz around this album has made me want to get out there."

She added: "Girls Aloud will also be back for a little while too."

Cole will release her third studio album A Million Lights in the UK on June 18.

The star's new single 'Call My Name' is currently on course to reach number one on Sunday's (June 17) official chart.

Cheryl says they are only returning for a "little while" so I guess we can kiss goodbye to a 6th studio album, this is obviously just going to be a tour and new greatest hits with a new song or two at the most. Still its better than nothing.

To be fair I wouldn't expect her to say anything more firm regarding a Girls Aloud reunion, before it happens. "A little while" is pretty vague.

It does give the impression that they haven't all agreed to commit to a full time reunion though. They could just to be waiting to see how the tour dates sell I suppose but I have a feeling this reunion was always going to just be short term.

Some band I think today tweeted that Girls Aloud were in the next recording studio as them. They never specified if it was all of them and then I think he removed the tweets afterwards...

And photos have appeared of Cheryl and Nadine together in the nightclub from the weekend today, and both Cheryl and Kimberley tweeted Nadine for her birthday so things are looking better between them all!

We Promise This will include Cheryl (eventually...)

GIRLS Aloud returned to the studio this week to work on long-awaited new material.

Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle visited Sarm Studios in west London but were without Cheryl Cole, who is busy on her solo campaign.

The Notting Hill studio is owned by legendary producer Trevor Horn and legendary acts including Bob Marley, The Clash, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin have all recorded there over the years.

The girls’ material is expected to surface late this year or early next – with a charity single for Children In Need among other projects in the pipeline.

If any of the Sarm magic rubs off on the songs they’ll be well worth the wait.

The new material certainly won't be Cheryl heavy then. I guess this is just what happens when one member gets alot bigger on her own, shame.

^ Not necessarily though. Mel C missed loads of the Forever recording sessions and she's still on the songs quite a bit!

I think she was as much involved as the others though only she did her recording at completely seperate times. I get the feeling from Cheryl that her recording input it going to be the minimum due to her solo workload.

We'll see anyway.

The recording process has always had the girls recording separately. They'll just be working around Cheryl's schedule as to when she goes in to record her vocals! There's months to go yet. I'm certain that Cheryl won't end up having the least amount of vocals.

Sadly I think Cheryl will probably have the most due to her current profile.

Yep it will probably be Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola, Kimberly and then Sarah. Cheryl will get the most vocals because now she's the most well known.

You're probably right, I see Kimberly or Sarah ending up with the least amount of vocals on the new songs.

Well Sarah ended up with a fair amount of vocals on their last album, wasn't that because Nadine was living in LA? Anyway, Brian has always picked the vocals based on which part suits each girls, not who's getting the most column inches that week.

It's not the vocals that worry me, it's the writing. I have a feeling Nadine and Nicola will want a hand in writing their new material.

I love that performance too, they finally got to perform at the Brit Awards after year after year of snubs.

Then they went on hiatus :(

I wonder if The Saturdays will ever get their Brits chance?

^ I doubt they'll ever even get a nomination.

---

The girls will tour the UK early next year and there will be new material too. I can certainly tell Cheryl’s ready to reform the group that won Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

“I actually didn’t ever think Girls Aloud would be apart for this long,” she admits. “It’s incredible that we’ve been doing this for a decade. I find it amazing what we were able to achieve and just how quickly time has flown. Sometimes I look at the band and think we have aged and all grown up, then other times I look at it and it’s like nothing has changed at all.”

What do people realistically see them doing for the reunion? Not want you want, but what you think!

At first I thought they might do a GH in November, tour in the new year and then release a new studio album at some point in 2013. But due to Cheryl's comment about them returing for a 'little while', I think they'll just either do a new album or Greatest Hits in November, tour next year and then break up again.

I think it's a shame that I think the only one who's not up for a full time reunion is Cheryl. Nadine and Nicola both failed solo, Kimberley keeps saying how they wish they'd never gone on a break and Sarah, well, her acting career hardly took of did it?

Yeah, she's only been repeating it over and over again how much she misses the girls in the past three years.

I don't know what to think at first I thought just a greatest hits with new single and tour however with the other 4 minus Cheryl spending alot of time at the recording studio could a 6th studio album really be a possibility?

"A little while" can't really be defined as anything though - while it sounds non-committal, it's also very vague. I think we'll just have to wait and see to find out what time frame that means.

I don't think her words should be taken so literally anyway. We're a few months away from the reunion occurring, so none of them are going to be specific about the details at this stage, other than to say something will happen at some point. They're choosing words carefully so the hype is merely simmering away, for now. Cheryl's not going to say anything huge regarding Girls Aloud while she's in the middle of promoting solo material.

I really don't think they should come back with a Greatest Hits, it seems like a bit of a non event to me.

Well she's coping fine without them isn't she? If she really missed them SO much then they would have regrouped after she was kicked off X Factor USA. She may aswell have done Messy Little Raindrops because Nadine hadn't released her stuff yet, but if she was dying to make another GA album because she missed the other girls so much they probably would have announced plans to do it in 2011 - but someone through the pain of terribly missing the other girls she managed to produce A Million Lights :death:

The future of the band will be dictated by Cheryl because she's the most successful.

There's five girls in that group, it doesn't all rest on Cheryl's shoulders! For instance, Kimberley was signed up to Shrek The Musical in August 2011, performing from October 2011 to May 2012. That was a long commitment!

I wouldn't be surprised if they all decided (including label & managers) that it was best to wait until they could genuinely use the "10 year anniversary" tag, to make their coming together seem like much more of an event/celebration.

^that was obviously the point since last year, wasn't it? to me, it seems that Cheryl was the one who had to make things happen around GAs schedule for this reunion. I bet she'll just release 2 more singles from A Million Lights (as usual) and then reunite with the girls.

In a dream world, the girls would stick together for a new album, a new tour, then release another album and another tour in 2013, and then go solo again in 2014. maybe in some other years they could reunite again for a farewell tour and a GH to call it quits and fulfill their 3 albums contract and make everybody happy.
