Postby LucaDG » 05 Jun 2012, 19:14

Have you listened to this song for the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee, 'Sing'? Do you like it?
I do.
Gary is always the best.

He is doing a solo tour

X Factor judge Gary Barlow announces full UK solo tour

Gary Barlow has announced a 16-date UK and Ireland tour, beginning in Bournemouth next month.

The Take That star says the gigs will fit around his commitments as a judge on the X-Factor.

As part of the tour, he'll play two hometown shows in Manchester at the city's Apollo and Bridgewater Hall venues.

The last time he toured solo was in 1999.

Barlow's gigs will take place mid-week whilst the X-Factor is on-air, avoiding any clash with the live Saturday and Sunday night shows.

On his website, he wrote: "Playing live is my favourite thing. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant."

"We all had such a good time so I thought right let's get out and see the rest of the country."

The concerts will feature songs from both his time in Take That and as a solo singer.

When Take That initially split up in 1996, Barlow went on to have two UK Number One singles, 'Forever Love' and 'Love Won't Wait'.

But the solo hits soon dried up, before Take That made a successful comeback in 2006 with the song 'Patience'.

Barlow was made an OBE in the birthday honours list in the summer.

He also helped organise this year's Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert celebrations.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 19th October.

The tour dates are as follows:
Bournemouth International Centre - 13 November

Plymouth Pavilions - 14

Edinburgh Playhouse - 21

Nottingham Royal Concert Hall - 22

London Royal Albert Hall - 27

Sheffield City Hall - 28

Manchester O2 Apollo - 6 December

Manchester Bridgewater Hall - 7

Newcastle City Hall - 28

Wolverhampton Civic Hall - 30

Oxford New Theatre - 31

Liverpool Philharmonic Hall - 2 January

Blackpool Opera House - 4

Cardiff St David's Hall - 5

Dublin The Olympia - 7

Belfast The Waterfront - 8

I don't think he shines on his own, his short lived solo career sucked, he is best sticking to Take That.

I think Gary had some pretty decent solo material. Love Won't Wait, Open Road, Forever Love, For All That You Want/Superhero. :adam:

Why is he doing a solo tour though? Does he have an album?
