thats exactly what i was thinking! imagine being any of the people who made the final 12 .. like whoever it was who didnt want to mess things up with her boyfriend. wouldn't you be kicking yourself everyday of your life.

Wow..thanks for your effort on making this thread. I actually enjoyed reading it. I assume you have referred to all the girls' autobiographies, but there is another book by David Sinclair which some fans regarded it as a very informative book although it isn't an official one, have you read that?

I wonder why Victoria referred to herself as "Adams-Wood" when she was only engaged(?) to him (at 19, God lol).

I'm just reading that part in her book.

" One thing I had got from Bertie was my Equity card. In those days the actors union was a closed shop[...] This also meant that I had to change my name- the rule is that you cant use the same name as another member of the union, even if it's your real name. And it turned out there was someone called Victoria Adams already registered with Equity. So Mark Durr-Brain Wood suggested Victoria Wood. [...] so I became Victoria Adams Wood."

My Mum use to work for ADT, after being a civil servant and one of the engineers who was in his late 20s/early 30s, as he was working around the same time as my Mum in the early 2000s' was called Something Wood and he told people that he'd been engaged to Victoria and so when they got engaged she changed her name to Victoria Adams-Wood.

That's the impression I got.

And in 1997, on the Big Breakfast show, which is on YouTube, Victoria said that she'd been engaged, kept the ring, that he wasn't the right man blah blah....

They've all been bitchy, but I would be too if I lost out on a possible £20million and performing on the biggest stages. Plus it's a job for life, if they all became skint now there is a market for them to perform and make serious cash.

I think I must've fallen asleep when reading the autobiographies from Geri and Victoria cos I can't remember ever knowing about Lianne LOL

That said, bearing in mind what a sodding c*nt she sounds (please bear in mind that's a word I rarely use!), I probably did know about, googled her, then blocked her from my memory... To think, I always thought Michelle sounded a bit too much on the catty side - but she sounds like an angel compared to Lianne... I'm trying to imagine three big personalities like Geri, Mel B, Lianne all being in the band when even two was obviously pushing their luck a bit...!

I know there'll always be bitterness and resentment but I think Lianne does go a bit too over the top with things she says!
