POLL: Would you support a 3-piece 'Spice Girls'?

Postby Trace Adam » 18 May 2016, 03:55

In this scenario, the 3 girls participating are the 3 seen together in the studio: Mel B, Geri, and Emma.
While I personally believe Mel C is onboard, she hasn't responded as of yet, and it'd be interesting to see what other people think.

I would support the music being released, but with only 3 of them it wouldn't seem like the "Spice Girls" to me.
I'd see them tour under any name but it would feel a little sad to be honest.

Maybe it was Geri new song and the others two were adding some vocals to it.

I said yes because, even though it would seem weird and I'm not sure how it would go, in the end they are my girls... They are my faves, they are three of my icons and have been for 20 years. I bought Life in Mono even though I now use it to go to sleep, I bought LA State of Mind even though it was recorded in her kitchen or whatever and has the production value of a turd flushing down a toilet, and SIYWGF even though it was really not the best... and if it does turn out to be these three girls, I'm sure whatever they put out I will buy. I'm sure wherever they tour, I will go. I will support them, because if they want to be Spice Girls, they should be able to be Spice Girls, regardless of who participates or not. I will be there for them, because through their music, they have always been there for me. I'm not going to turn my back on these three, especially because they are TRYING to give us what we want; Spice Girls. Like Mel B once said, you can force someone to come in to work and be a Spice Girl... but you can't stop someone from being one, either.

If it was 3, I'm sure they would label the release under their 3 individual names rather than class it as a SGs release

Yes. I'll always support the girls. I'm not overly happy about them maybe being down another member ( We all knew Victoria was out but Mel C?) they'll always have my support though. I want new music anyway they'll give it to us.

To be honest, I don't care what happens, I just want unreleased music. That's they only thing I'm interested in.

Of course! However, I'm sad that Melanie C is out too. I was hoping it would be the 4 of them. Anyway. 3 is better than nothing.

Once a Spice Girl, always a Spice Girl. I would hope they would not consider recording under another name, imagine if they decided they were going to be called "GEM." Yuck!

I wouldn't be so sure - Take That are using their name as a three-piece.

Only if it was a one off release for say the Ab-Fab soundtrack. I wouldn't mind them using the Spice Girls name same as they class Xmas wrapping as 'spice girls'.

Touring or a full album I'd need Mel C involved her voice and performing is needed on a bigger scale.

A three piece tour simply would not work. Melanie C's vocals bine the tracks together and no other girl has her range. Anybody kidding themselves thinking their back catalogue will work without her needs to wake up.

A Geri track feat Mel B and Emma would be a huge disappointment for me.

I blame Victoria.

IF Melanie C decided not to reunite (again, it's just a freaking rumor), it would be down to her, not because of Victoria. She's been perfectly fine with a 4 piece reunion for the past 3 and a half years, so IF she changed her mind, it's not because of Victoria.

I think everyone is over reacting, I think at worst it is a 3 piece track recorded for the Ab Fab soundtrack. Eliot tweeted about 20 years, then tweeted he was doing a lot of things 20 years ago. Then when Mel B let the cat out the bag and the pap pics came out he pretty much confirmed it. He then tweets the words 'ab-fab' when referring to their 2nd stint in the studio and to me that wasn't coincidence even if he then straight away again claimed it wasn't.

Eliot has a big mouth and has to keep back tracking to me.

If it is a 3 piece bonus song under the name of the spice girls for a sound track then bring it on. If the tour is still 4 piece then all is good.

I personally think we will get a mixture of 3/4/5 piece stuff this reunion. They will probably all do as much as their schedules will allow, which for Mel C probably meant she couldn't do the soundtrack song but seen as it is just an extra for the reunion it is all good.

Think we might get a 5 piece interview or photoshoot or documentary so Posh has done her bit and a 4 piece tour.

Not really.....
As solo I am only interested in Melanie C...I newer bought any others solo albums...(except Schizophonic )...so Geri, Emma, Mel B trio is not for me....

Basically I would support whatever they're gonna do.

My favourite one is Posh but I love all my Spice Girls and I'm happy because after all these years they're still doing something. I'm quite curious about their future plans and discovering what's going on is always a big surprise when it comes to Spiceworld.

I just can't imagine Melanie C not being involved she has no reason not to be. If this was ten years ago in 2006 and the three of them entered a recording studio without her I would absolutely believe they were doing it without her (Victoria would definetly have been involved then though)

I think the three of them probably make up the bulk of the song and Melanie will either add her part/s later or ad lib over the finished track ala Say You'll Be There or Who Do You Think You Are.

On a side note if this was a three piece project and it reached number 1 Melanie would have missed out on her three piece number 1 record that she needs lol

I voted no, I support all the girls 100% in everything they do but their magic is the 5 of them, i think we'd need at least 4 spices to even come close to emulating that and while im not ignoring the talent these three have, Melanie C has always been the strongest vocally, songs like "Too Much" wouldnt work being performed without her

I'd be excited for new music even if it's just 3 girls, but a 3 piece tour could never happen, wouldn't work, wouldn't sell, and certainly I wouldn't travel the world to see just 3 of them, i'd only do that if it was a 4 or 5 piece tour.

So I partially say yes, and partially say no.

Melanie C has already done this "I will not participate" and she did in the end.
If they decide to go on as a 3 members band, I wuold keep the name but maybe it could work perfect they do small intimate gigs...maybe with interesting acoustic versions. Something like Kylie's "Anti Tour".
I would not like to have a big Spicey scenario for only the half of the band.
