London Gig Will Be Streamed Live. Can Someone Record?

Postby Samuel-Bennett » 06 Apr 2017, 23:27

Perezhilton.com is gonna stream Saturdays gig live. Me and Craig would normally do it. Erick would amongst others but everyone I know is going to the gig. Is anyone able to record it and share it for us all?

Nice show! What surprised me is that the songs that rock the most - and also the songs which Mel seemed to enjoy the most - where definitely NOT the songs from the new album. Songs like Think about It, Never be the same. and Rag 'n Boneman cover 'Human' seemed to feel like a relief for both Mel and her audience (and also for myself)

I think Mels earlier work was definitely more authentic and close to her heart. Version of Me is just commercially intended crap.

The audience seemed to be a bit more into their phones than into the show. In some parts you see 5 phones filming from the same, very small, angle at once..crazy shit!

I hope Mel will get a rockier crowd in the other venues. A positive thing is that Mel got rid of those awful background singers from the sea-era. Now one last thing to do would be to put a real drumset on stage again, instead of that digital electric-drum crap;)

Anyway, glad to have Mel back on stage.

She said a few times... she loves this album....she even said in an interview once she was crying when she listened to it.....and her boyfriend asked her why is she crying and she said because it is so fucking good....

she is already planning the next record, what will be also electronic (she loves the electronic new sound)...she said in a new interview from last week

Duh..what else she is gonna say? 'Sorry but my nee album sucks'
I think her interviews have a high political correctness anyway..
Just saying she looked more into the other songs during the show.

I have to agree the concert did lack that Mel C rock element , but I guess she is going for this new sound ....

she cant win

if she does the same old rock...she is boring

if she changes......she misses the rock sound.....

....I love the changes...(she should have done it earlier in her career )

The new band is great... they are easy on the eyes, and nice to see they are enjoying the concert (singing the songs, dancing) hope she keeps them

I think the new electronic band was a really good change after almost 20 years with the rock band. I (and probably most of her fans) was super done with the acoustic/rock stuff.

The problem, imo, was that half of 'Version of Me' is average at most, so the show for a non-fan probably was a bit of a snoozefest at some points. If she's planning to record the next album soon, then I hope it's more upbeat (but still electronic) and a little edgier (like 'Numb'), so the next tour will be more uplifting and not so mellow. Anymore, Numb, Think About It and ITTY were the highlights of the show, she needs to include more upbeat songs on her next album.

I'm loving the shows/the new band. It seemed like she got really emotional when singing Dear Life at Birmingham. Can't wait for tonight's show!

For me the highlights of the night were Version of Me, Unravelling, Numb and Our History. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

However, to give an opinion, I think it is important to have been there, the streaming thing does not give the show justice. She was fierce, the venue was packed in London, like I have never seen it before (it was exhausting at times) and the audience was far from being in a snoozefest.

She needs to find a bigger venue with better visibility in London for her next tour. SBE visibility was shit with so many people filming with their iPhones.

^ I agree. Having seen many gigs at SBE, nothing is more infuriating than a Melanie C gig there. I know that people get their phones out at most gigs these days, but the Melanie C crowd is the worst for it - many of them seem to want to record almost everything...and SBE is shit for visibility in the stalls, when everyone has their phones out.

Thanks for the tip Paul.

Agree re; SBE venue. I strategically stayed to the front left for a good view & dance area.

I would prefer Hammersmith Apollo or a venue on a gradient for London. I simply do not get Melanie's audience though. Why do you need to watch the show through a phone?! Even more baffling when it will be online after, LOL! The other cities were certainly not as bad for this.
