Lego fan Becks boosts sales

Sales of Lego have rocketed after David Beckham confessed to being a massive fan of the toy.

Becks said he would spend all this time building the bricks if he were not a footballer and was working on a model of the Taj Mahal during his spell in Milan.

Lego bosses have apparently invited the former England captain and his family to their HQ in Denmark to discuss future projects

TOM Cruise wants David Beckham to become an actor!

The Knight and Day star says the soccer hunk has “got the looks” to launch an assault on Hollywood and become a huge movie star.

“I’ve been encouraging him to become an actor,” said Cruise, who has been close friends with David and his wife Victoria since they met in 2003.

“He’s got the looks, he’s got everything. He’d be terrific.”

Back in April, Showbiz Spy reported that Victoria was trying to convince David to act.

“She’s been urging David to try his hand at acting and has told friends she’d take such pride in him becoming successful in Hollywood,” a source said at the time.

“David’s always been reluctant because he didn’t feel he had what it takes, but he’s finally given in to the idea of giving acting a go.

“David’s been getting help from his friends Tom Cruise and Vinnie Jones. But if he’s going to make it as an actor, he’d be well advised to step out of his comfort zone.”

Could they please stop asking Tom about David?

David Beckham trips over his own feet during dance off with Louie Spence .

The flamboyant dancer was invited to an exclusive dinner date at the Beckham’s palace along with Emma Bunton and sister Louise.

Whilst Victoria cooked up a delicious feast, Louie, armed with his Lambrini, decided to involve the footballer in some cheeky dance routines back from when he knew Victoria during the Spice Girl era.

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Louie and Victoria go way back to her Spice Girl days and she loves catching up with him when they are in town.'

But though David might be famed for being clever with his feet, dancing clearly isn’t his forté as he went red-faced and bashful when he was made to give the female diners a treat for their eyes.

Louie even tried to get the dad-of-three to pirouette around the dining room.

The source added: 'Becks was giggling nervously and going bright red as Louie was trying to get him to pirouette around the dining room.'

'The girls thought it was hilarious and were egging him on. Louie can't sit still for long, it's as if he has ants in his pants and just has to perform.'

One could be forgiven for thinking this Louie intoxicated but, true to his character on the Sky One programme, he wasn't drinking at all and was just letting his crazy character ooze through.

Even poor Beckham can't perform when he's out of his comfort zone...

David Beckham considering West Ham United move - David Gold

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has confirmed that the club have held discussions over a move for LA Galaxy and England midfielder David Beckham.

The 35-year-old, who is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury, has been linked with a move to Upton Park since Gold and David Sullivan took over the club in January.

The former England skipper is expected to return from injury soon before possibly making a return to Europe in January.

Gold revealed that he has held talks with Beckham’s agents and that the midfielder has promised to make a decision over his future.

"We had some discussions with David's agents a few months ago and it was a possibility," Gold said in The Sun.

"He's preoccupied with a few projects but he's promised he will give every consideration to the possibility of joining us."

David Beckham denies any contact with West Ham

David Beckham has "no interest" in leaving American team Los Angeles Galaxy and has had no contact with West Ham, according to his spokesman.

West Ham co-owner David Gold claims to have held talks with the 35-year-old former England captain's agent.

But Beckham's spokesman said: "Whilst it's flattering, there has been no contact with or offer from West Ham. David has no interest in leaving."

The midfielder is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury.

Gold reportedly hoped that Beckham, who was born in Leytonstone, east London - close to West Ham - would end his playing days with the club.

The Hammers co-owner is also said to have wanted the midfielder to help the club's attempts to move into the Olympics Stadium in London after the 2012 Games.

However, the player's spokesman added: "David is happy at LA Galaxy and is looking forward to returning to the team on 9 August."

Beckham tore his Achilles tendon in March and hopes to be fit enough to return to action with the Los Angeles outfit in September.

He joined Galaxy from Real Madrid in 2007 but has since had two loan spells at AC Milan.

The former Manchester United trainee has 115 England caps and formed part of the national team's backroom staff at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

He was unable to play in the tournament, which England exited in the second round after a 4-1 defeat against Germany, because of his Achilles tendon injury.

Well he'll be training with the team in August but Arena is cautious about when he'll play, he thinks near the end of the MLS regular season but it could be next year. At least they aren't going to rush him.
