Re: Random Beckham News
Cute indeed. But I can't believe that LA Galaxy would give him time off to go and promote commercial businesses during the Olympics. I'm hoping for a more official hosting / welcoming role. I hope VB has her outfits (and smile lol) ready

That video was so cute! I love how natural and friendly he looked and I also loved people's reactions. I most probably would have fallen to my knees if something like that had happened to me. And I would have stayed in that position, just in case he was feeling naughty
Anyway, there's another video here:

It must be so weird to cause a reaction like that to people, imagine if you showed up somewhere and random people start crying!

IMO it's starting to get quite obnoxious now, how much they're shoving his 'good work' down everybody's throats.
It's so pre-meditated, and feels so image based.
I'm not saying he doesn't care, because I'm sure he does.

^I disagree with that, when was the last time he has done a major Charity event like this? Not since his trip to Iraq if im not mistaken, so it certainly doesnt feel dishonest to me. I want him to do this more often actually, especially once he retires. And if people can find fault in doing good work, then so be it. (Not you Lynzi, but others in general).
HQs are on the way.

its a tough one, but I kind of agree. There are those who do good works, and those who need to be seen to be going good works. David's name brings publicity and I'm sure its just a case of him being asked to represent this charity and him saying yes. But there's no doubt that the timing seems contrived and with time he will become less effective as people switch off.

Re: Random Beckham News
I can think of a lot of little 'campaigns' that he gets involved in, that are purely to show him as 'mr nice guy'. Nothing on the scale of his visit to Iraq.
I know his name adds weight to all these causes, but there comes a time when it just seems like its to profit him rather than the causes.
A lot of 'big names' help without all this publicity.
Like I said, I don't blame him. It's his publicity team working overtime.

Re: Random Beckham News
I don't care actually, I know David isn't the kind of man who BEGS for the press to be there. He can easily go visit a children hospital without wanting to have a photo taken.
with 4 children and money in the bank he could easily turn it all down.

Can't believe their are complaints that he is doing charity. I quess if he does it in private and not publicly then the people would complain that he does not do charity or use his fame to help charity....
He is conected with adidas and unicef so what his he supposed to do? They oh no sorry I can't do this people would think I'm just doing it for publicity and btw I have earnt enough money I have to stop doing anything.
