Very unexpected what's happening now with the PSG fans...not

This is what PSG still was 2 years ago (violent fans, hooligans, there was even part in the stands where the nazi fans were parked) before the new owners came in and tried to make the world believe PSG is a great impeccable club.

So PSG have said that even if David decides to retire at the end of the season, they would like him to stay at the club and work with them off-field.

Out of all the clubs that David could be affiliated to in his post-playing career, I don't think PSG is the one. Is it just me or does anyone else think that it is sad that when David plays his last game, he won't be in a Man United, or even LA Galaxy type environment where there is real appreciation in the stadium of his playing career?

I see bad things happening for him there. It's not a family club.

Well he hasn't really achieved anything at PSG, he did at his former clubs...so maybe if he does have an off field role at PSG it will be his way of getting real credit at that club.

^ The club is a shambles - an absolute mess. Why would he want to take credit for anything there? lol! There appears to be a faction of right-wing/hooligans amongst the fans (to the extent that public celebrations have to be heavily policed and even cancelled), the Director of Football thinks its ok to assult an official and once the sugar daddy owners have had enough, the club will descend back to its previous station.

Like Lynzi said, not a family club at all. He'd be a fool to take a role there. At the end of the day, what he sells / promotes is image. PSG does not have the fundamentals required to cultivate a positive image.

Absolutely. When his retirement comes, I feel like it will all be a bit of an anti-climax after such an incredible career.

He did say he would continue his role as an ambassador for the MLS so I certainly see him reverting to that once he retires anyway.

Well at RM they have the Ultra Surs, but because the police are aware of them they are controlled I guess. PSG haven't had a celebration for many years, 16 years? Things can change over time...MLS was barely given a notice years ago, in some ways it has changed

I guess...but an affiliation with PSG would be as random as an affiliation with Man City or wherever else the Middle Eastern dollar turns to next (even though he has at played for PSG). Would be great if he could somehow get a role at Man United or even with the MLS.

I really do wonder what he'll do with his time - I don't see him being a boring football director, and he's already made clear over the years that he won't be a manager. I feel like he'll need something more than just an ambassadorial role though...

I'm quite surprised he doesn't wnat to go into coaching. I get the whole manager thing is a no go as that is a huge job but being part of a coaching team I think would be quite good for him. Helping younger players.
As for staying on at PSG off the field. Not sure I like that Idea.

I'm sure he would enjoy coaching, but he's not exactly being groomed for a back-office / background role in the future

Thanks Ish! I hope he announces his plans before the final match. Wouldn't it be great if Ancelotti went to Madrid and took him along?! LOL I dreamed about it...
