Handsome David Beckham shows off his suave style in the first Haig

Postby AGM88 » 17 Oct 2016, 18:05

He's among the most famous men in the world, known for his prowess on the football pitch and his unique take on style.

And on Tuesday David Beckham demonstrated his sartorial flair yet again with the launch of the very first TV advert for Haig Club Clubman's Single Grain Scotch Whisky.

The ad sees David wearing a grey t-shirt and pouring a whisky and Coke in front of the London skyline before raising a glass with his pals.

Speaking on the day of the release, David said: 'The advert for Haig Club Clubman feels really special as it’s different to what you would expect from a whisky, especially one with so much heritage behind it.'

'With Haig Club we have always aimed to shake things up, and it was fantastic working with [director Nima Nourizadeh] to bring our unique approach to life.'

'With Clubman, we want to highlight that there is no right or wrong way to enjoy whisky, as long as you enjoy it, that’s all that matters.'

In another scene, seemingly filmed in a bar, David wears a white t-shirt beneath a well-fitted camel coat.

A series of glasses filled with whisky and ice rest on the bar, along with Haig Club Clubman's stylish blue bottle.

Haig Club clearly believes that Beckham's cross-generational appeal and free spirit fit with their own brand values.

Director Nourizadeh said: 'This film embraces a whisky that is reaching out to the next generation of whisky drinkers.

'It juxtaposes stuffy rules with fresh alternatives to capture the Haig Clubman spirit to socialise and celebrate with whisky your own way.'

Beckham sat down with British GQ to mark the commercial's release and described his ideal place to drink.

'I'd be at a pub that serves an amazing Sunday lunch, by a big log fire, and with a load of old people.

'I love going to pubs in the countryside, or to my local pub where everyone knows me and I don't get bothered.'

He also told the glossy men's magazine that in order to stave off hangovers he takes an Alka Seltzer tablet before bed and has a bacon sandwich the following morning: 'My granddad told me to do that.'
