I'm excited for this, very interesting collaboration. Maybe couple of years ago, I would be worried how it's gonna play out, but every move her brand made so far has been carefully thought through, I'm sure this is not going be any different. Can't wait to see kids clothes and larger sizes.

I don't really like that it is Target but I guess it's better than another Beckham doing H&M.

That is cool, i also saw, and still seeing this all over my timeline on Twitter, even Vanity Fair wrote about it. It's really interesting how upfront they announced it, from a PR point of view! And it will be sold in ALL Target stores, only the second collaboration collection to do so!

^ So much better than her ads for EL, that was literally the worst shot of Kendall, and the only bad aspect from the collabo. I hope for the next collection it's better!

The outfit on Sasha looks very VVB, and i love the shirt, but that dress on the daughter is too cute! I can't believe this is coming out in a month!

I get the feeling that this collection is influenced by the first and maybe the second VVB collection she did!

Probably a bit from every, but the best looks. I like how it obviously looks VVB. Was afarid she might be forced to do the looks that have none of her VVB DNA!! But this is obviously not the case.

From People magazine:

Victoria Beckham's First Target Ad (Set to the Spice Girls!) Is Here - and She Reveals that She and Harper Have Already Worn the Pieces
By Jillian Ruffo•@jillianruffo

Over the years, Victoria Beckham has gone from pop star to fashion icon and designer to the stars. And now, with a new line for Target in the works, even children will have the opportunity to dress in the star’s pieces. But just because she’s serious about style doesn’t mean she can’t have fun with fashion, as evidenced by her first ad for that upcoming Target line.

Set to none other than the hit Spice Girls’ song “Spice Up Your Life,” the Victoria, Victoria Beckham video (below) features young girls and moms — who her new line was designed for — dressed in the new pieces from her fast-fashion collection for the retailer.

The line, which launches at Target April 9, already is stirring up frenzy among fans and fashionistas alike. And Beckham answered a few of our questions about the collection over email to keep us occupied while we impatiently wait.

What made the timing perfect for this Target launch?
For a while now, I have wanted to offer something to a wider group of women, who either don’t want to, or can’t afford to spend designer prices. The Victoria Beckham for Target collection reflects the essence of my Victoria, Victoria Beckham line, which is the category within my brand that I was inspired to create when I was pregnant with Harper. With both the VVB line and Harper turning five this past year, it felt like the perfect time to celebrate both milestones.

What were the biggest surprises about designing for this market? The most fun and most challenging parts?
I have been so surprised at how easy and seamless the process of working with Target has been. I really appreciate how they go above and beyond to create the best results. I am still amazed I was able to create a collection of this size and quality that is both affordable and available to a more mass audience.

I loved being able to try my hand at designing kids’, a category I have been interested in for some time. I had such fun because I felt I could use my own personal experiences and tell a story through the clothes. This whole partnership was a new and exciting challenge for me, but I think challenging yourself is important in order to keep evolving and engaging new consumers.

What’s your favorite way to make affordable style look expensive (or, work with the rest of your wardrobe)?
I think the key is just to keep it simple! Getting dressed in the morning should be easy! Using classic pieces like a great white shirt, or a simple shift dress are the perfect way to feel good and keep your look elevated.

Have you or Harper worn the pieces already? Which ones couldn’t you resist bringing home?
Yes, we both have worn pieces from the collection already. It has been a dream come true to design pieces that Harper can wear! I love every single piece of this collection! I’m probably most drawn to the soft tailored pieces, like the tuxedo shirt and calla lily shirt and pants. They’re just really easy to wear, but still feel luxurious and create a very pulled-together look.

Which past Target designer collaboration were you most excited about?
I’ve loved all of them actually – it’s always so exciting to see how designers work with Target. Seeing the great collaborations Target have produced in the past was one of the main reasons I wanted to work with them – they’re really experts in their field!

What’s it like to see women in your designs? How did you react the first time you saw someone wearing a piece of yours, and what are you most looking forward to seeing people react to with this new collection?
I am so happy every time I see women wearing my collections. I think I’m as excited now as I was nine years ago! I’ve always felt it important that the clothes I design work for my customers lifestyles and that women feel great and comfortable when they wear them. That is the same goal for me with this collaboration. I’m so proud of the collection with Target. It is sophisticated and fun and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!

For Beckham, combining her past career with her current one is simply a matter of pairing two of her proudest accomplishments. The designer tells InStyle in her April cover story, “I’m really proud of what I achieved with the Spice Girls, but I’m also proud of everything I have done with my brand.”

Says Target’s EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer, Mark Tritton, of the first ad, “The campaign for Victoria Beckham for Target brings the collection to life beautifully. It’s upbeat and energetic, which aligns perfectly with the aesthetic. We think Target guests will especially love the song and nod to Victoria’s time as a Spice Girl.”

^ Nope, that was all Target, they paid for the rights to use the song. (obviously she agreed to the idea)

It works perfectly for the energy of the ad.

Nice interview from UK Harper's Bazaar:

Victoria Beckham tells us how Harper helped design her Target collection.

Winter Storm Stella may have forced Victoria Beckham to postpone her Target collection reveal by one day, but a little powder is no match for the force that is VB. Yes, it was slushy as hell outside, but inside Beckham's launch party, friends and fashion editors were treated to an incredibly chic Alice in Wonderland-inspired tea party, complete with models of all ages and sizes wearing select looks from the over 200 piece collection. Each was cuter than the next, and priced fairly, I might add. I chatted with the designer to learn more about what's in store for her first high street collaboration.

I read that this collection was inspired by Harper. Tell us more!

For me this really is about celebrating VVB, which is the sister category to my ready-to-wear collection. And VVB has always been about celebrating Harper. When I was pregnant with Harper that's when I started working on VVB and it was always the other side to my wardrobe: fun, conversational prints, fun energising colours, pieces that are very easy to wear. With this collection I feel that I've been very honest: This is about me, this is about Harper, the relationship that we have together. And things like this [points to sticker book and colouring book] these are things that we do together. We colour together, we do stickers. We walk to the park and collect flowers and press them. You can see there's a press flower story within the collection, as well. I feel there's something here for everybody, no matter her age, her size, where she's from. For me it's about being inclusive and that's how Target feels as well.

Yes, that's something that's very special about this collection. What sort of things did you have to keep in mind when you were designing such a massive, inclusive collection? Anything special?

VB: No, not really. Obviously you have to consider when designing this collection that little details push the price up. That's challenging as a designer to have to bear that in mind, but that's great. And I think we did a really, really good job. I don't think we've been compromised in this collection at all, I'm so proud of it. We're actually going to be selling it on my website as well and you can go online now and register for that. I've learned an enormous amount and the Target team is wonderful to work with.

Josh Thomas, Director of PR, Target: I think when we were creating the collection there are actually some things that Victoria helped us keep in mind, especially as we were developing the kids line together...Being a mum, she's mindful of what works for kids. It can't just look good, it has to be comfortable, and you have to roll around and still be able to play and run and have fun.

VB: Kids want to be comfortable, as you said. And they want to look good and run around. I mean Harper, as much as she loves dressing and being quite girly, she's also a bit of a tomboy. She's got three brothers. I mean she wants to run and be quite comfortable as well. She doesn't want anything that's too tight under her arm you know? She wants to look good but she also wants to be comfortable.

Everyone in the office wants to know if you remember your first trip to Target?

You know, I can't remember what my first trip to Target was, but I often go to Target. I lived in LA for six years and what can't you buy at Target? The last thing I bought at Target was a GoPro and some swimming goggles for my kids. And some inflatables for the pool. I mean it's such a great store and we don't have anything like that in the UK. When my sister used to come to visit me in LA, the first thing she wanted to do was go to Target. It really is a great store. And I'm not just saying that.

When you were designing the collection, did you show sketches to Harper? Did she weigh in?

I didn't show her until I could physically show her the dresses. She came to my studio and she tried everything on and she loved it. She helped advise me with the sticker books, and the colouring books. I said Harper, "As a little girl what do you like that we do together?" And she pulled out her favorite colouring books and sticker books. She was involved in that part and she's excited to get her hands on the full collection.

She's not alone! What are some of your favorite pieces?

Well what I'm wearing is one of my favorites, the calla lily trousers and shirt. I also love the pink pants and the pink top. Colour's very important. That sunset orange is a signature colour for us. It's something that's been in VVB and ready-to-wear. It's the perfect little jumpsuit. You know, never has there been more of a time when women really want to be positive. And for me you can't help but smile and feel good when you look at this collection.

Agreed! Lastly, mummy and daughter twin dressing: do or don't?

You know, I think it's really cute. And for me it's about offering pieces for everybody. There are a lot of women in American who like to dress like their daughter. And I think dressing is about fun. Yeah, it's great. The dresses here that are mummy and me are really beautiful.
