The Berlin topic - photos, videos, reports!

Wow, I'm back from Berlin (actually I was yesterday already, but didn't really have time to write) and it was fantastic! I was in front row at the corner of the main stage and catwalk with Stephan and after the show met Anja and her sister too! Before the concert, I was at the meet & greet with Sarah and she was amazing, even remembered my name (and spelled it right without asking or seeing it anywhere)! I still haven't had time to write everything down (it's a Formula 1 weekend and I love F1, so I've been busy with that), but I will eventually and will post it all in here.

I've got loads of photos too, but it'll take a while before I can post the whole set. Here's a couple of previews however:

And btw, the weather was fantastic! It sucks to be back in rainy Helsinki (+ 3 C) from sunny Berlin (~+17 C I think)

The concert was really fantastic, certainly one of the best nights ever! For the second time I could see a well put together show and could appreciate certain parts more (like Music Is The Key). Being front row with Minna was fab, as she'd say. Especially when for the only time of the concert she records a video and that was when I was crowned the man of the night . Thank you also for getting that autograph at the meet and greet - it is now waiting to be framed.

The concert in Berlin was certainly different than the Stade one. Got to see the very beautiful Lulu (song was boring though) and a futuristic Sarah performing Beautiful View. See You Later started funny, because she couldn't hear herself so they had to start again. Got that recorded on my mobile but I have to wait until I get a cutting program for that as you won't be hearing my scream when Sarah asked which song we wanted next

Some words about the support group aswell - they were good! I'm convinced the songs sound better on CD performed, but Flipsyde put on a good show and hopefully attracted some new fans. And Chentelle was so beautiful once again, glad that I got a photo with her (if only I wouldn't look like a baloon in there ). Their single "When It Was Good" is actually my theme song of the whole concert now as it says "When it was good we were sitting on top of the world" <- I was sitting there. "When it was good we were happy in the pooring rain" <- My feet hurt and I've only realized that after a while because I had a good feeling!

I believe she has sung it in some of the concerts before, but not all. It's like He's Unbelievable on Naughty But Nice Tour, she didn't sing it in all of the concerts either, I didn't hear it in Trier.

It's great that this time I got to hear all the songs on the setlist, including both of the songs that are not always performed: Beautiful View and Tell Him with Lulu.

I'm glad that you had such amazing time, pics are really beautiful...
Flypside also were in Essen and I was amazed by them, I think they were one of brighter sides of the concert...

I'm so happy and jealous for you guys, both at the same time! I should be there with you in the front row screaming and singing along but living here in Brazil make things much more difficult than they should be... But anyway, I'm glad you two, Anja and her sister had a great time! The pictures are really amazing (and they look so professional!), the video is great (Minna, you didn't even shake!) and Stephan must be the happiest person in the world right now! If only Sarah took him home after the concert... LOL

I'm really curious to see a video from Lulu's performance and what a coincidence that Flipsyde was/is the supporting act to her concert! I just found out about them this week through one of the music blogs I visit daily and feel in love with "When It Was Good"! I'd be totally surprised and amazed to see them performing... Also, I really like reading/hearing that Sarah is so sweet and corteous to her fans! I'd be so happy if she could remember my name!

Congratulations, Minna and Stephan! I really hope that in her next tour I'll be finally able to go and enjoy the show with you, guys!

Okay, I'll write a bit about the meet & greet. I did try writing a really detailed report, but it became way too long and I didn't even finish it yet, so I'll try to write a shorter one.

The meet & greet was in the room where they filmed some of the scenes of the Under My Skin video, this one:



I knew it was filmed at the Tempodrom, but I was surprised when I entered the room and realized it's the one where it was filmed. She came in, greeted everyone by shaking their hands and I think there was just one fan after me, so after she'd shook her hand, she came straight back to me and went "Oh my god, you're here again all the way from Finland". I smiled and asked her "Didn't you expect me then?" and she replied "I didn't know you were coming tonight" and added that she thought I'd probably come at some point, but didn't know when. She started signing some autograph cards by one of the tables in the room, the table where I had just layed my stuff on. Someone asked her if she's going to see Michael Jackson and she said she is and she's gonna be just like we are at her concerts! I mentioned I'd been to the O2 Arena where he's performing and she was like "Oh, you've been there?" and when I told it was for the Spice Girls, she didn't answer. I don't think she likes them, so I got a bit embarrased that I actually said it. Lesson learned: never tell your idol she's not the only one!

I'd brought two photos for her to sign. She signed the first one and the second one was a collage of photos of when I've met/seen her before. She started looking at it and said we've met so many times and I mentioned that we have, but not so often anymore. She noticed a photo from the meet & greet on the Green Eyed Soul Tour where she was wearing a pink/white striped hat and went "What is this? That's so horrible!" I wasn't looking my best either, so we were looking at the photo and both going "that's horrible" of how we looked. She tried to sign it, but it got smudged, because the paper was too glossy, so she signed the back instead: "To my beautiful Minna, love Sarah" and a heart. I also gave a card with the same photo collage of our meetings and a letter. She started opening the letter straight away and I went "Oh no, you should read it later, it's just a stupid letter!" and she said "okay" and laughed.

She asked where my father is as he's always been there when I've met her and said if he's outside the venue I could call him and ask him to the meet & greet too (it said on the email it was only for one), but I knew he wasn't anywhere near (he was in Berlin though), so I couldn't. She signed him a card though and wrote "See you next time : )" on it. I also got a photo Stephan had taken in Stade signed for him and after she signed it, she got this cheeky grin, raised her eyebrow and asked if I like him. I knew there was no right answer for her to not take it the wrong way, so I said "I like him, as a friend!" and she went "Ohh, you like him!" I told her hi from Ben too and she signed him a card as well.

She also told me Tyler and some men of the family (she did tell me exactly who, but I've already forgotten ) are gonna come to Finland soon with Pekka (Lagerblom, her sister Anna-Maria's Finnish husband). It's gonna be a trip just for the men and she didn't know where exactly they were gonna go, but somewhere by a lake. She asked me how old I am and what do I do work-wise, which is a question I hate hearing from anyone as I just do what I can get as I have no idea what I want to do... She also complimented me on my hair.

I thought the meet & greet would be horribly rushed as there were so many fans, but she stayed for half an hour and I got to talk to her a lot more than expected and did probably talk to her more than most of the fans there. She told us to "enjoy the fucking show!" and then she was gone.

I was so worried about not getting near the front for the concert as the meet & greet was so late and the doors were supposed to be opened during the meet & greet, but I couldn't believe it when I came out of that m&g room and saw there were still people outside and the doors were closed. I went straight into the concert hall, the fanclub members were already in, but it wasn't that many and they were mostly at the end of the catwalk. So I got the place I wanted, in the corner of the main stage/catwalk on the left side (stage-right) just like in Trier on Naughty But Nice Tour. I tried looking for Stephan, but couldn't see him for a while until I spotted him at the exact same place on the other side of the stage and he came to me. I'll write about the concert some other time.

I adore that song, and I'm not surprised since Ally McBeal is her favorite show...

Yeah, Tell Him is the song she sings with Lulu at the concerts where Lulu is. She wasn't there in Essen when you saw her? There's plenty of videos of it at YouTube. Hah, Ally McBeal really uses a lot of soul songs she likes, I was watching it from DVD (my fave show too) around the time Soulicious was released and a lot of the songs that she covered were used it in.

Did you recorded "Beautiful View", too?

No, I didn't. As I said, I prefer photos, so I didn't took many videos. I did actually take another one too, during FSWL when she was on the catwalk, it's not so good, but I might post that later.

Awww, I really hope you'll be able to come the next time she tours! Even though it's not that expensive to travel to Germany from Finland, I wish it was easier for me to go and see her and I could do that more often, so I can imagine how it feels like for you living on the other side of the world!

Yeah, I didn't shake while taking the video, I was quite relaxed then already. But I was so surprised when I saw she pointed at Stephan that the camera actually went down for a little while and missed her eyes just before the chorus. She was super sweet at the meet & greet! Lately, the picture the media has portrayed of her is not a very nice one, but talking with her again convinced me she's still the same down-to-earth Sarah we all fell in love with!

Haha, let's see how long it'll last. When the tour's over (today is the last show) and she'll go back to doing nothing for a while (actually, I was supposed to ask her about her plans at the meet & greet, but guess did I remember? ), then maybe it'll get quiet again. I miss the good old days!

Wow! That's great news! I was thinking we wouldn't hear anything new from her until 2010... I really hope she'll release the first single from the new album still this year!

And, Minna, you're so lucky that you got to talk that much and about those subjects with Sarah! She talked to you like you were friends forever! I'm so happy for you and also happy for Sarah, 'cause she really seems very dedicated to her fans and she's not afraid to be her normal self in front of them... And if I knew she was gonna sign so many things for you, I'd ask you to ask her to sign me a card aswell! (Stephan is now probably thinking: - Here he goes again... LOL)

Allrighteys ... I know this a bit late, but I was really busy and couldn't manage to post something before.

I was at the concert, too, and I LOVED it. I was really worried before it started because my sister and me went to see P!nk the night before and she really has a spectacular show, so I was worried that I'd be disappointed my Sarah's show which is way smaller compared to anythink P!nk does. Luckily, I was totally wrong. I absolutely loved the show, even though there were at least 2 mistakes - ("pretend I wasn't here yet" - LOL), but somehow that made the show even better because she was very close to the audience and interacted a lot with the fans. I think by now everybody knows the show in every tiny detail by now, so I don't want to comment on that again, BUT I have to say I loved the intro!

If she tours again, I'll deffo will be there ... I didn't like her too much anymore tbqh due to all of her love drama lately, but she pulled me back as a fan with that show and I really hope she doesn't ruin it again, LOL!

Yeah, it was the hell of a tour...And she's a real lady, such a class, I'm so proud because she's the one I'm loving, she confirms it every day I look at her performs or photos or videos...Honestly, if someone asked me to describe myself as a person I would proudly say that one of my best qualities is that I love Sarah Connor...
