Re: MLS Thread
Why don't you realize that many, many football players do that even to their own fans when they're booed?

Re: MLS Thread
Why would i care? I'm not a football fan, i HATE it when footballers act like dicks, and it's no different when it's David. I thought he was better than that.

I am not trying to mke excuses, but it is easy to sit on the other side of TV and make all the judgements while when there on the pitch, he must have felt something different. it's not like he jumps to confront fans every other game
That's exactly the point. He never acts like this yet he does here. I can't imagine that anything was said that was worse then your wife is a whore and we hope your kid dies of cancer. That he heard something much worse then what he heard while in England or Spain. He took it because he wanted to play there. The arguement of all the Galaxy fans is they know he doesn't want to be there. That he acts like they should be thankful that he even came back. And he won't even so much as say that he is sorry that fans were disapointed. The soccer analysts here said it was like his ego couldn't handle being taunted by lowly soccer fans from the lowly mls, which is how some of you act too.
I am sure that those fans were not at all innocent, but I expected better from David.I was not a fan at the time of the world cup 98 drama but according to everything I have read and heard from that time, David was an absolute professional. It was something I have admired in him that other athletes didn't have.

1-1 ft
Apparently the guy was insulting Victoria from his interview after the match. I heard David shake his head and say "you're wearing an England shirt" to the guy.

Yeah David just said that what the guy said about his wife was a disgrace, and that he couldn't believe that man was an Englishman.
PS: Before some of you get all exited and jump on David again, nothing happen, we heard him say "you're wearing an England shirt?" to the fan with a WTF expression on his face, and he just went to shake his hand.
He had a pretty good game, Kansas City Fans were great to him, the only boos he got were from the Galaxy fans, which like David just said is a disgrace.
When asked about last week, he said that the way some of the fans are acting is a disgrace.

Re: MLS Thread
At least he got another assist. And the match had nearly 12,000 fans, the highest attendance Kansas have had since moving to their temporary home in 2008.
I saw one picture of a Kansas fan holding an anti-Beckham poster, but that's hardly surprising, he's had that since day 1. If his own supporters can't support him though then they obviously don't care as much for the team as they seem to think.

He needs to stop confronting these people. He's the one that comes out of it badly.

I don't understand the hand-shaking thing. Why doesn't he just ignore them? What is shaking someones hand going to accomplish? And glad they didnt lose.

LA Galaxy scorer Donovan praises Beckham after assist
27.07.09 | tribalfootball.com
LA Galaxy attacker Landon Donovan insists he's on the same wavelength as David Beckham after their 1-1 draw at Kansas City Wizards.
Beckham created Donovan's goal and also carved out two more great chances for the USA international in the first-half.
"David did a really good job putting pressure on Santiago [Hirsig]. He knicked the ball away and took a touch and a couple guys made really good runs to open the defense, and I put it in a good spot,” said Donovan.
“Even before that goal, we were all over them and we should have scored a couple goals. It's a night we'll want to have played again because I think it’s a game we deserved to win. In the end, it's okay. We were playing well up to that point and we played well after that point. They had a short spell in the second half where they came back into it but other than that, we dominated the game.”
Galaxy coach Bruce Arena also said of the feuding pair: “They're playing well. Landon [Donovan] had another good game. David [Beckham] played well. He had a little bit of a knock. And his fitness isn't where he wants it to be right now. But certainly we'll get better each and every week.
"But I'm pleased with the work by both of those players. Both teams are missing some players tonight. Certainly Conrad and Arnaud are big losses for Kansas City and our injuries in our friendly [with AC Milan] to our starting forwards and [Donovan] Ricketts (to back spasms) didn't help us tonight.”
