work clothes

Random topic, what do you girlies wear to work (if you do work) and if not then what would you wear. Make sure you specify the job as well because obviously different jobs call for different things. Im currently findig it so hard to dress for work. I work in a primary school and most people there wear pretty trendy stuff. One girl who always looks stunning tends to wear like high waisted trousers but in like brown or fawn colours in heavy-ish fabrics with floaty blouses, or little summer dresses which look fab, then another wears like little dresses (forgive me I dont know the right name) where they are sort of like tunic dresses but sort of almost square in shape with a round neck which is like a 3inch band which is also the shoulders (that sounds minging but it looks nice I just cant describe it well). Its just above the knee and she wears leggings and flats with it.

so yeah, 3 questions,
1, what do you wear to work
2, any fashion tips you have for me :)
3, what the hell kind of dress am I trying to describe! lol.

go mad, I know you girls are fashion mad, I need to channel it!

I wear just everything I want. The only thing I don't wear is really short skirts. I work in a pharmacy(well not really working because I work there for my internship so I'm still going to school). When I have to make medication I wear something that is comfortable( that is 1 day every 2 weeks).
The only thing is that I don't wear high heels, because I need to walk the whole day.

I also worked on a primary school for a while and I wore the same things.
Maybe you can look in different shops what you could wear? I buy lots of thing at H&M, Zara, Vero Moda, Vila, The Sting, Pull&Bear etc.

I work in advertising agency so we're quite free to wear what we want. I sometimes dress in jeans and t-shirt and sometime with a nice skirt and top. I never meet client so this isn't a big deal. I just never wear shorts or short skirt. If I wear a spagatti stap cami, or a strapless dress, I always have little "coat" or bolero to cover up.

I don't have any special advice exept to dress "classy" (aka not trash/too sexy) which I'm sure you do already.

I can picturee the kind of dress you talk about but I don't know the name at all.

I sell wooden floors in a department store (I am the shop manager) so I have to look representative and slightly... authoritarian (is that the right word?) I mean I am in a position of authority, to the customers and to my staff.

that means I wear pantsuits, with a little natural looking make-up, a (slightly flashy) watch and nice jewellery. oh and high heels, to make it look a little feminine. I love it! haha!

I work for Sears this summer, it's my internship, and I try to always look professional. Dress pants and blouses or shirts, skirts and things like that. I wore jeans twice, on Fridays, because I went downtown right from work and wanted to be comfortable.
Wear something YOU are comfortable with, and what you like. Here, everyone wears very casual clothes, especially lower ranked people. I don't want to show up at work like this because it makes me myself feel unfocused maybe? :)
I worked in Norway for 5 years before coming here, in translation company, and followed the same rules :)

Your dressing sense at the work place is same like my sister. She is also very careful about the take what to wear and where to wear..

She avoid the shorts in the work place and if she wear strapless dress than wear any coat or a shrug on it..
