I dont know what to expect from them but all Im hoping for is to see the 8th album some time in 2012. Heidi is doing Dancing on Ice in January so hopefully she does well.
Apparently the Freedom download got 70k downloads from amazon according to twitter so even when free the interest is still there.

They're preparing for an amazing performance at the 2012 Olympics.

I don't think there's ever been an official source for the 70,000 free downloads things.

Even 70k is kind of a flop for a free download anyway.
18 out of 21 of their singles have sold more than 70k. Even 'Wear My Kiss' managed to sell more than 100k, so imagine how badly 'Freedom' would've done if they had made a full not-for-free release, they woukd've been lucky to outsell their least selling single ever (Shape - 55k).
Seeing how people have lost insterest in them and how the Sweet 7 singles ended up selling more than 100k each. I think they should've kept on promoting Sweet 7 with more singles. The songs were already recorded and the album was already out... So the label and management would've saved a lot of money if they had tried harder with that album instead of moving on to the 8th one. Even with the Keisha drama being so present around them they still managed to release 2 singles with average success.

I think you forgot a few of their singles, Follow Me Home & Soul Sound are by far the worst selling Sugababes singles!
I would imagine Island are completely fine with cutting their losses and letting go of the Sugababes at the stage they did. It's now Sony who have a dead-in-the-water band on their books, a band who have so far sold *zero* records for their company.

^ But why the heck did they sign them if they don't believe in them?

I guess they must have had some belief in them to start with, but then they got very nervous when they saw how bad the response to Freedom was. Now it seems they've put them firmly on hold until the spring.
Apart from "the free single" blip, by the time they release their next single / album it'll have been 2 years since Wear My Kiss & Sweet 7 were in the charts.
Kind of crazy how long the process is taking.

I really wish they released more from Sweet 7 (No More You was screaming for a release!). I understand why they decided to leave the album when it failed to sell (and also understand that with the Keisha backlash that was/still is happening a single called No More You would've been catastrophic).

lol I checked this thread viewtopic.php?f=122&t=185646 and scrolled down to see if there was some kind of update, which there was and I took that as a reference. Didn't notice it wasn't a full list.

Why do people think that a 4.0 break up will automatically transform into a 1.0 come-back?

Re: So they've just vanished again?
I thought this would be an appropriate thread to ask this in. If you guys start typing Sugababes on Google, do you find that no instant results come up anymore?
When I've typed as much as 'Sugab' it only offers 'Sugababz', and when I've typed 'Sugababes' in full, it's blank until I press enter to complete the search.
Weird. Let me know if the same has happened with you guys.
