4th Album News & Discussion

Thought we'd keep all new info here to avoid scattered information so it's easier for all of us to be up to date with news about the upcoming album/music.

We know from the "Tweets about Geri's music!!!" topic that she has worked extensively with Absolute on the new album, and the producers seem to be very happy with the work, having posted several, albeit vague, tweets about it.

She also described the album to journalist Dean Piper as "high end dance. Think Madonna confessions....but more nineties.". He even wrote an article about her comeback in The Mirror last year: see here.

And today, at the launch of her new Next clothing collection, she said an announcement about the new album is imminent and that it's being mastered. Check the video below at 1:38 (thanks to RiccardoSpice):

Why did she talk like that? Was it because she was nervous or what? She was talking as if she had learnt every single word and was trying to remember them.

Anyway, I'm officially excited about the 4th album now. If the album is being mastered right now at least it means it will be released, even if it's on digital form. I doubt she'd waste money in producing/mastering a full album and shelving it just because of a flop single. So hopefully it will see the light of day before summer.

I hope she's saying the truth and the annuncement is coming this or next month. She's always been pretty loyal and when she's said she's doing something, she does it.

Can't believe she started working on the album in 2010 or so and it's going to be released already, while Mel B was been 'working' on hers since 2008 and she hasn't even released a single.

We got the official confirmation when she, herself, said she was back on the studio. And when the producers said they were working with her.

And I doubt she'll use the musical es promo for herself. If the announcement is taking place soon and the album is being mastered already, I guess it will be released before summer. By the time the SG musical is premiered, she will be releasing the 3rd or 4th single from the album (if the album hasn't flopped by then).

I hope you're predictions are right, I'd much prefer to hear the new music sooner rather than later. It's weird we haven't really heard about her being signed to any label yet, though... I hope things are already being taken care of on that front!

She should release the first two singles before the album same as Nicola Roberts so even if the album underperforms we might still get a 3rd single and then hopefully a fourth.

Exactly. That's why I still respect her. She might be a bit deluded sometimes and she might act a bit desperate too. But she never talks just for the sake of it and never feeds rumours if they don't have any truth in them.



I hope the 1st single is being released no later than later March / early April. If she's mastering the album already I guess it's because she'll release it after the 1st single. Masterization is the last step of an album's production (except printing it obviously) so there would be no reason why the album should be being mastered now if it's going to be released after a 2nd single on the 2nd half of the year.

I am so excited I remember the days I bought her previous albums .. it was always such a great feeling ! Geri's music is Pop, it's sounding more like spice girls music than any other solo stuff !
