Shocking news
Nice to see they're actually really involved in the project

Yeah, hearing the same old "It's made by Judy Kraymer and Jennifer Saunders" comment that they've been saying for two years now was getting a bit boring. It gave the impression that they had no idea how it was coming along or what it was about. At least now we know for sure that they're getting involved ^^

To be honest, I still get the feeling from a couple of the girls (mentioning no names) that they're almost totally clueless. It's good to know that some of them are really involved though, it'll definitely give the story a more authentic feel.

Melanie B! As she clearly showed on Soccer AM.
Yeah, I have a feeling that Emma and Mel C (and possibly Geri) will contribute the most to this musical.

^ Hehe yep! Mel B knows the names of the people who are involved, but that's about it. And as far as I know, Victoria has been on the cover of quite a few magazines lately and hasn't mentioned the musical once. Or nothing more than "I'm done with singing, I was shite anyway, but the Spice Girls have got a musical coming out". They don't really seem to know anything about it.
At the end of the day, Mel C, Emma and Geri were the ones who'd always contribute the most in the group anyway. Some things never change.

I don't blame some of the girls for not being as involved as Melanie C and Emma. Why would they? As soon as the writing and everything finishes, they'll show up and do their thing.

They should all be involved, it's a Spice Girls musical, they're all Spice Girls, it shouldn't be left to one or two members to sort out.

Whose initiative was it to start the musical? Who came up with the idea? Was it the girls?

^ Who knows really, the girls say they came up with the idea when they finished the reunion tour, that it was the best way to keep the Spice legacy alive. Either way, if you agree to it, you might as well get into it, since it'll give you exposure and money without having to do much at all.

Then don't agree to it and give up your share... but no, some people can never have enough money.

And who said they are not involved? They may not be as involved as the others, but that doesnt mean they have no idea whats going on or are not interested.

I don't think its necessary for them to be 'fully involved.' Reading through script draft and adding their two cents is all fine but what else would they need to be involved with? I doubt they'll get much of a say (if at all) in any other aspect of the show ie. casting, costumes, set etc.

Ha! Emma contributes nothing, in my opinion. She just does what she's told.
Melanie C and Geri, however ... seeing as they've poured a lot of creativity into their solo careers, I can see them being the contributors. And Mel B on the off chance she's not trying to become a resident of every country on Earth. :P

Are you kidding? She might not have the strongest character but if you gonna talk about influences and contribution to the group, you can hardly deny that Emma is one of the hardest and most creative contributors to the group.
And if you gonna compare creativities, well let me just tell you that musically, Emma pisses allover Geri and most of Mel C's albuns. In fact the only album that is on the same level as either Free Me or Life In Mono is Northern Star or maybe even Beautiful Intentions.
I am not talking about how much I like the albuns, but in terms of quality of production, creativity and lyrics, both Emma's last albuns are on a much higher league than any of the most "successful" solo Spices.

You don't really seem to have a clue. So because back in 1996 Emma was portayed as someone who sits on the fence 17 years later we're still stereotyping her? Puh-leeeease. You probably haven't read an interview with her where she talks about her music nor do you seem to know anything about her at all.
I couldn't agree more with you, Mr X.

Re: "Spice Girls didn't fall out over musical", says Emma
I love that it always end up as a Spice Fight...
HOWEVER! lol Victoria isn't involved with the musical, whatever her fans may say... She doesn't want to be a spice girls anymore (took her like 15yrs)
but now that she's succesfull in something else the Spice are not important anymore (it's just the feeling I have which might be totally wrong) because she's famous for sqomething of her own for the first time in her life. She was a spice girls, then she was David Beckham's wife (for yeaaaaaaars) now she's a designer and she's recognised by all as one... I love victoria so I can't really blame her, but I wish she was more involved, but I guess she wasn't really involved in the spice girls either... she did what she was told from day one I guess.
Melanie C had this period (fed up bein a spice) too for almost a decade, but we all know why... and now she's more at ease with herself & her past, she's so fully commited to the group I love it... and Emma always was... I don't remember emma saying anything bad about the Spice girls...
We all know it'll end up, Geri sayin: I WANTED A MUSICAL, I CHOOSE THE PROUCER... "ME, ME, ME.."
I don't think Mel B is as much involved with the musical as the 'british' spice (the 3 ones who still live in UK), but I'm pretty sure she still gives a damn about the legacy of the Spice Girls...
That was my 2 cents worth of opinion. (how do you say that in proper english?!)

I am sorry but when did Victoria ever said she is not happy about being a Spice Girls? She always said she's super proud to be one and she is where she is today because she was a Spice Girl. Yes she has moved on with other things in her life and so have the others. That doesn't mean she is not involved. If you do know Victoria, you will know, if she does something, she gives it her all. Yes Mel C, Emma and Geri might be more involved cause they live in London. Victoria lives in LA so she might not attend every meeting but I am sure she knows everything she needs to know and has given her input. That's not me talking, thats what Mel C and others have said as well.

They wont say the contrary...
But the others made it quite clear that she was the one who's stopping the jubilee & the Olympics reunion...
So I guess she knows whats happening with the musical but I doubt she is involved in it
don't need to be like a figthing dog because I critised victoria...
I do have to agree that indeed she's the only one who organised a annual Spice Girl Christmas diner (forgot about that)

Stopping the Jubilee and the Olympics is different than not being involved in the musical. She didn't want to be part of the Olympics/Jubilee cause she does not want to perform again. In the musical, she won't be actually performing so I don't think she is going to have a problem being involved with the musical. Ys though I do think she is not AS involved as lets say Geri, Emma and Mel C.
