So did I. I'm truly gonna miss them. Been watching the series for 8 years, they almost feel like friends, lol!

Ugh I couldn't watch it without crying & had to change the channel during the funeral scenes, because it hit too close to home given my uncle's funeral was a few days before :( & I hate that they killed Mike off. Have to watch the episode later when I can contatin my emotions. & yes Tom&Lynette need to get back together! Their flashbacks were so cute!

god, this ending comes 2 seasons too late.

season 8 is full of the most stupid, dumb and lame storylines.
they can't be taken seriously any more

loved the show, loved the show
but they are more like the BOTOX Housewives these days

it came as a huuuuuuge shock them seperating
but on the other hand it would be lame for them to reunite

Hasn't she already "decided to get him back" this season what with the hair and the liquor? It's like they can't even steal ideas from previous seasons anymore so they're pulling from like 6 or 7 episodes ago.

I love DH and it's sad to see them go but it really is time.

I did! Did you see Vanessa Williams (Renee) almost cracking up when she got the tissues on her mouth by accident? :D

^ As much as I was upset that one of my fave shows is ending I didn't expect to cry. But those last few minutes provoked some horrible feelings in me and I started crying like a baby.

Spoiler: show
I know they wanted to give an interesting ending. But still I'd have preferred that they all stayed there and grow old together. I know that story-wise that'd be boring but seeing them all go in totally different directions enjoying life as if none of this has ever happened really upset me for some reason. :hmm:

And I can't believe next Monday I'll wake up, make my coffee, sit on the PC and there won't be DH anymore :'(

No no, I was on edge about that whole storyline. One of my favorite things about DH was you could always count on Tom and Lynette to be together. I was not happy they were messing with that, I'm glad they made sure they were back together in the end. That's how it should be.

As much as season 8 have been a bit up and down, the finale was perfect to be honest.

Yes, a bit Six Feet Under-ish, but knowing that it will always go on and on and on? Perfect. I loved it.

I loved the last episode but was super sad that they all went their own ways :( The new neighbor and her having some kind of "secret" was like coming full circle so I loved that. All the dead people at the end really made me realize just how many people died over the years. It's the unluckiest neighborhood of all time. Loved how they had some random blond that was out of focus. Assumed that was supposed to be Edie.

I loved how amazingly the end was! I can't believe that I just watched the final episode for the series that I've been a fan of since I was 18! I hated the scene when Mary Alice said they won't see each other afterward :( that was so touching.

They probably used it because they couldn't have planned it better even though she was cracking up. They've made a few errors this season. In the episode where Mike gets shot, if you look at his feet as they are panning out there's some sort of tape on the bottom of his shoes that they use on set so it doesn't make any sound when he walks. And earlier in the same episode there is a scene outside of a car (can't remember who is in it) but you can see very clearly one of the crew in the side mirror.

It was very bittersweet to watch the ending. I have never missed an episode, and it really has been a part of my life since the beginning. I'm very pleased with how Marc Cherry ended it, I was very nervous about it, but I'm overall happy!

Postby rock_coyote » 15 May 2012, 19:40

I used to hate the last season 'cause the main storyline was really shit. The Season Eight was boring like no other from DH. And - traditionally - Marc Cherry has left unsaid a lot of plots he had begun. For example, what really happened between Julie and Scavo twin, where's the bold cop that wanted to arrest Bree so bad (and who was really suffered of Chuck's death), and why - oh why - Susan left her art-school without saying a word - if that has been the one and only place she could forget about the eaten guilt? Then Marc Cherry killed the good guy to shock the audience thinking all prime-time audience will forget about the imperfections of the plot of Season Eight.

Whatever.

The last episode is really good. It seems like regular traditional good DH-episodes. And I really like the main idea of the final - no matter how many years we had spent with our best friends - there are always partings and goodbyes. Good one. Brilliant final.

To answer your "plot holes"...

Spoiler: show
Julie and Scavo: She goes to raise her kid with her mum and MJ. The Scavo twin wasn't prepared to fulfill his parental duties and Susan decided he would be better off continuing with his student life. That was implied after her McAuto drive thru conversation, wasnt it?

The bold cop received Orson's letter and he was who moved strings to make Bree be judged. What else can he do?

Susan left the school after painting the murder scene and Bree being arrested. She was good at it, but everything went down with Chuck investigating them.

So I don't think these are plotholes after all.
