^I love This Time. :P (except This Time's single mix which killed the song).

But a slow album doesn't mean it will be boring. All the songs she has done with him in the past are great, and I'm sure he can produce midtempos too. Adele's 21 is a "slow album" and it's the best thing that the music industry has produced in a long time.

Imagine an album with:
- Northern Star
- Closer
- Feel The Sun
- Reason
- Water
- Better Alone
- Here & Now
- You'll Get Yours
- The Moment You Believe
- May Your Heart
- Forever Again
- Weak
- Drown
- One By One

It would be an amazing album, and they're all ballads. So I won't judge the album just because it's bound to be full of them. :)

I just hope she doesn't do 'safe' covers that sound just like the original with her voice.

It's incredible how most fans dislike the single mix, innit?! I don't like it, as well.

Not imo I fell asleep listening to it.

I do think This Time is a good album though for the most part but has a good few clunkers in there

Carolyna & Understand both stand far above the rest.

I think it's her most hated release after OTH. I guess the fact that the album version was nearly the best song on the album (and a fan favourite) and we had high hopes for it because it was being released after the ROTSG announcement have a lot on weight on why the fans ended up hating the single mix.

I understand that she wanted to make a tribute to the death director, but the song itself didn't relate to that AT ALL. So there was no need to change it. She could've shot the videos she was going to shoot with the original version and add a nice emotive ending in memory of the director. Bad Melanie!

Imo, if This Time (album) had been released by Natalie Umbruglia, it would've been praised. But Melanie C fans, somehow, love when she goes all bitter and darker.

Something I've ALWAYS noticed with Melanie C fans is they seem to love her last album, then once another one gets released they forget about it and sound as if they had never loved it in the first place. I remember that happening with "Reason". I had to laugh out loud when a poll titled "Which Is Your Favourite Melanie C Album?" was posted on DenDen back in 2003/2004 and "Reason" got waaaay more votes than "Northarn Star". AS FUCKING IF.

^ Reason is a weird album for me. I remember adoring it when it came out and then going off it after BI was released funnily enough (it was never better than Northern Star though lol), however I was listening to it the other day for the first time in a long time and I'd kinda forgotten just how much i do like the album, its such a plesant easy listening album (similar to how i view Life in mono) I'd probably rate it above Beautiful Intentions again now (which I do still really like but in a different way).

The Sea is still my 2nd favourite Melanie C album though (its very close to NS, I'll give it a few more years before i decide whether its better than Northern Star or not)

I think that never happened with TT though. It was quite a hated album since the very beginning, probably because it was her first big flop (not that BI was huge, but it produced FDOML) and her fans tend to hate and dislike almost everything that's a flop.

I've never made it to get into "Reason"... It actually took me ages to buy the album and only bought it because I've always been a Spice Girls fan and HAD to own it. :x

Most people on this forum seemed to love the album when it came out, at least that's what I remember, but yeah, guess the fact it pretty much flopped made them change their mind.

Im getting more and more excited for this (mostly for the Emma duet). I hope we'll get the tracklist soon, and I hope Mel throws in a few unexpected choices.

I LOVED every single album she released and I hope it'll be the same with 'The Stage' even if i'm quite reserved for now...
I'm just really excited we already get a new album including a duet with Emma!!!

Does that mean you owe us all 10 dollars now?

I am curious about what known songs are going to be on there, hope they reveal something soon they said soon didn't they, didn't they :)

Queenie wrote:I am curious about what known songs are going to be on there

The (non-officially) confirmed songs so far are:

Tell Me It's Not True
I Don't Know How To Love Him
Another Hundred People
Both Sides Now
My Funny Valentine
I Know Him So Well
(feat. Emma Bunton)

and there's the rumour that Reason might be included too as she performed it on An Evening with Peter Vettese and they supposedly said those tracks were going to be included in Melanie's showtunes album. But it might be just that she decided to sing that song, as it wouldn't fit on an album full of musical covers - and then my personal theory that if there ever was an intention to include that song on the album it could've been rejected if she really broke up with Tom.

So we have half of the tracklist.

I never heard of another 100 people, had to look it up on youtube and no don't know it. I was never a big fan of my funny valentine, the rest you mentioned I love when she sang Both sides at the Vitesse concert I couldn't stop listening even though the quality of the recording was bad.

Summertime

Her choice of songs is rather random.

Nothing is really for sure so let's wait before saying it's random...
especially if it's only Half the tracklist...
